Okay, we're in NY where we're dealing with septic issues and hoping
that a leach field pump will be fabricated and installed soon and
we're hoping that a dog in south western OH is eliminating!

Something about being surrounded by fecal problems...

Yay for Tuck pooping!

The in-laws have a place on Lake Chautauqua. We get to come here and
work on the house for our "rent". The last visit had us emptying a
room and (prepping and) painting it from ceiling to baseboards and
installing a new kitchen faucet.

This visit is septic-related. Things aren't moving through the system
like they should, so there is a need for a leach field pump, but we
had to be here to talk with the nice septic folks and then wait some
more for more discussions about possible solutions, including - but
not limited to - the leach field pump. We're waiting for the diagrams
to come back from city hall (Mayville?) so we can analyze where
exactly the leach field is. We don't want to have a new one dug.

I am reminded to bite my tongue every time I crab about costs related
to our sewer system at home.

But I am ever so grateful to be unlucky at fishing at least three
times a day and for hanging out with the bats every evening. The
famous Chautauqua bats are extremely interesting and wonderful. I
stand out in the back yard and the bats come so close to me that I can
hear their wings flapping and feel the air beneath them.

So we are having the best working vacation of the year - especially
because I declared that I didn't want us to take on a side of the
garage this trip and DH's siblings were okay with that.

Nothing is simple with septic systems!

We had friends spend the night the last time we were here and they
were less than enthusiastic about the bats. They were okay watching
them from inside, but didn't want to be in the middle of the "dinner
table".

I'm amazed by them and fascinated with them.

But I'm really happy that everything finally came through for Tuck!

Good news indeed. I was worried about the cute little "snappy-grabby" guy.

There are quite a few bats here as well, and they do a good job controlling
the mosquitos.

We're on our way to Western MD for a long Kamping weekend. Perfect weather
expected.
