"The Bush administration today recommended the most significant
regulatory overhaul in the housing finance industry since the savings
and loan crisis a decade ago."

"We can see now that the Bush administration had accurately diagnosed
the problem in the lending market and had a plan to address it.
Reluctanly Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac supported the plan. However,
Democrats objected."

First, that depends on what you mean by Social Darwinism.

What depends on what I mean?

Second, are there really people who object to teaching the theory of

I've never met any.

Two weeks ago I represented the behemoth at the Cornell
Engineering Career Fair and we were all kind of shocked to
see that Lehman Brothers had a table. They looked very
unhappy and nobody was talking to them. For that matter,
the students were generally avoiding the financial industry
companies and flocking to the military and federal agencies
tables, interestingly. I kind of wanted to ask the the guys
from Lehman what they were doing there but that would have
been rude, and you kind of have to figure they didn't have
much else to do with themselves (and maybe they were looking
for jobs, too).

We were parked next to the Marines and were totally
outclassed. They had a guy in a dress uniform and a guy in
a jumpsuit and topped it off with a *sword* on their table.
But as we were shutting down at the end of the day I was
able to swap a couple of fistfuls of our lame-ass light-up
pens for a Marines gimme cap, so I guess that's something.

You have to feel seriously terrible for people retired on
modest investments.

Your premise is unintelligible until you explain what you mean by
Social Darwinism. There are several versions.

Second, are there really people who object to teaching the theory of
evolution?

I've never met any.

Don't get out much, do you?

Yeah, I do. Which is why your premise is questionable at best.

I dare say that you have, either.

I'd be willing to consider financing the relocations of both of you to
Canada. Or to Cuba, in your case, Judith, where you could actually put
to practice your commie/socialist philosophy, and even get to worship
at your hero's tomb (Che Guevara) daily, if you would both sign a
contract promising never to return (even by raft, in your case,
Judith).

Here, this will help you get used to the sound of the Cuban national
anthem:
