Default vestibular symptoms?

My younger mini poodle started walking like he was drunk, has a head
tilt and he has some involuntary movement in his eyes. There are no
visual signs of a ear infection. I took him to the vet this morning,
no temp. She said he could have a deep ear infection and thought he
had some around a tooth. She put him on antibiotics and gave me some
deramaxx. She also said if he wasn't better by monday that we should
do a thyroid test. I asked if the eye thing was a symptom of thyroid
and she said it could be. I said go a head and do it now. It is one
they need to send out for analysis. Other than him losing balance,
he seems "ok". Still plays... no outward signs of any pain

anything else i should watch or have him tested for? He usually is my
healthy guy

Thanks

Went to the vet again today and saw his regular vet. I mentioned the
excessive watering in the one eye... the tracking has slowed, balance
and head tilt the same. He cannot blink on the one side, cannot feel
food in his mouth...that is why when i brushed his teeth there was old
food. He gave me some prednisone to start in a few days because of
him being on the nsaids.

To top things off... i've been cuddling and pampering him all weekend.
The little sh*t has been in some poison ivy! So I bathed him today
(freaked out and he has never done that) and am washing everything he
has been in contact with...

Sending purrs for the little guy. Did the poison ivy affect you also? MLB

Fels Naptha soap (not sure of spelling, ask your grandmother,

The dogs coat will protect him pretty well, but you could get

you can after patting him.

Jerry Howe's Grandmother

WOW! Jerry's grandmother? Can I ask you something? How did you
possibly allow your grandchild to become such an imbecile? Do you
read what he writes? It's like reading something a 4-year old would
write! He can barely write a correct sentence - if ever!

How did you let your grandson become such an idiot? PLEASE talk to
him and try to educate him SOMEHOW. I do feel sorry for you having
such a grandchild - you must be highly embarrassed.

even so I am worried

who is looking under the hood

I had a dog that developed a thyroid problem (he wasn't that old). He
proceeded to get a host of other problems. It was assuredly a progression
that started with this disorder. Hope you do better with yours than I did
with mine

right now i'm attempting to be patient while the prednisone gets out
of his body. I took the geriatric to the vet with a urine sample and
it was clear. Just worried because i go on vacation soon. The
eye tracking seems to be ok but the bells palsy type symptoms (partial
paralysis of one side of his face) are still there
