Default A Short Cat Story

I came home, took the dog out, then fed her. Then, I looked around
for the cat. That's something you do with old and frail cats,
because you're constantly checking to make sure they're still alive.
I couldn't find Pan anywhere. Uh-oh. And then, I did a double check
of the kitchen and heard a chirp from the top of the fridge.
*boggle* She is *22*, deaf, half-blind, and wobbly. How the hell
did she manage to get up there?!

I am seriously impressed at her nerve and stupidity.

Dare I say it? Harriet was involved.

Pan climbs on the counters and stuff just because she's a cat and she
(still sorta) can. I've never seen her climb to get away from
anything, and she would never consider backing down from a
disagreement with the dog. If anything, she'd climb up on the
counter, then use her advantage to poke the dog's eyes out. She's
mean and evil that way, and Harriet knows and respects that.

So, I don't suspect inter-species shennanigans.

Ah! Well that wouldn't surprise me. I mean, she spends an awful lot
of time sitting and plotting world domination, so surely she
occasionally puts some of her lesser plans to the test?

she probably just levitated herself up there. cats are like that.

As some of you may know I took in a little six toed stray a couple of weeks
ago. Cosmo is adapting to the three dogs as they are to him, though I
certainly would not let them in a room alone together.

He's a lap cat, purrs and purrs and seems to want very much to get along
with everyone. We made another jump today to the bed where he snuggled in
with Bodie pup and oddly when Truman tried to jump up, Sugar Mama growled at
him like "my baby"......she had five puppies you know.

His little crate is out in the garage and the last couple of days I've left
the garage door open a tad so he could go in and out rather than be crated.

I thought today I lost him but later found him on top of some boxes chirping
at me. We bring him in for a love pile, he has a little inside crate that
he quietly sits in while we have dinner. Then I take him back out for
dinner and crate him for the night. He neither yowls nor complains. Just
purrs.

Well, he's not a dog and I'm not a cat person, but we are getting to be
friends and as I said before, I couldn't just leave him in the road.

When his cojones come in, off they go, but I think I won't do the declaw
thing since he's sort of an indoor/outdoor cat. I will get him a collar wit
h a bell though. I did that for the other three dogs after the great bird
kill.

So now we are four....

Kind regards,
(the)duckster

This seems to be something elderly cats do. Our Polychrome, who must be
pushing 16, perches in all sorts of weird places. She likes the fridge top
as well and I think it's because of the heat coming out of the coils on the
back.

The dogs here do that, too. Sort of.

My fridge doesn't have coils and pushes the heat out of the
bottom front. On cold days, in front of the fridge is the
favourite floor spot for the young'uns and the old ones.
