Default Questions to ask adopters

I'm so sorry to hear this, Marcel. I've read what others have posted,
what I'd offer is to visit the prospective home, and also go with your
instincts by observing the interaction between Moogli and whomever
would like to adopt him. Much can be sensed through that interaction.

Thanks for the kind words and advice TD.

Oh, no. I'm so sorry, Marcel. I know what Moogli means to you, and I
know Gen does as well, but I respect her, and you, for having the
courage to do what's best for the kids *and* the dog before something
terrible and irreversible happens.

Thanks.

One thing that should also be known. We don't give him rawhides. He tends
to get possessive/growly with them. He also likes to disembowel teddy bears
or dog toys he plays with, usually through an eye or nose, and then eat the
stuffing.

Well, I don't know that you can automatically rule out a home with young
children. It would have to be a very special one, and caution dictates that
one without young children is preferable, but depending on the problem and
what can be done to address it, it might be possible to successfully place
him in a home with children.

I'm sorry, but his pattern of behavior with the young children who he
has been living with for a few years now, with dedicated and loving
owners, is enough that he can't continue to live there. To even think
about risking him in another home with small children, which he
obviously not thrilled about, with owners that don't have any particular
reason to be able to be more skilled and tolerant than Marcel and Gen
have been, would be foolish IMO.

"Special" homes are usually too smart to take on risk.

Please let me know before you come to the end of your options.

Will do. I have tried contacting the local rescue organization a couple of
times, but have gotten no response at all.

Oh yeah, check your email for some links to old pics of Moogli. Updated
pics when I get home tonight.

Can you provide a thumbnail sketch of Moogli? Background,
age, health, temperament, physical characteristics (coat,
weight, etc.), and a link for his most current pictures.

Sorry, I've had no responses from the feelers I put out.

I was also considering him for myself (I need a cute fluffy
dog), but with how much I travel four dogs would be three too
many.

Thanks for the effort Matt, it is really appreciated.
