Just ran across this link recently and it's very informative.
http://aunaturelk9s.com/treatingyeast.html WHAT CAUSES YEAST TO OVERGROW? Many factors contribute to yeast overgrowth in dogs such as poor diet (feeding grains/carbohydrates/sugars), the use of antibiotics, steroids and other prescription drugs, environmental toxins, vaccines, and stress. |

(feeding grains/carbohydrates/sugars), the use of antibiotics, steroids and other prescription drugs, environmental toxins, vaccines, and stress. Genetics, environmental factors, smoking in the household, moisture, breed, anatomical anomolies.... It's not JUST kibble. Until I see every single raw fed dog live well into the teens with absolutely no medical issues (including being able to magically repel AND kill all stages of the flea and ticks), I can't buy your version of 'kibble kills'. Be very careful giving medical advice bsaed one this one bit of obsession you have. |

Kibble is just one of many possibilities but unfortunately it's by far the most common one. Another troll it seems.... I just buried my raw fed Aussie after almost 15 years and she never had a medical issue. |

Medical studies are an obsession? Wanting to feed my dogs the best I can
is an obsession? It seems your only answer to everything. It's not. Another troll it seems.... Hardly. I just buried my raw fed Aussie after almost 15 years and she never had a medical issue. And I had dogs live well into their teens eat only kibble with no medical problems. Show me a reliable study (double blind perhaps) that proves that kibble is responsible for most medical problems in dogs. Until then, it's your obsession. |

Medical studies are an obsession? You have yet to post a link to anything even remotely resembling a "medical study." Wanting to feed my dogs the best I can is an obsession? Another troll it seems.... We all want to feed our dogs the best we can. It's just that some of us have opinions that differ greatly from yours as to what constitutes "best." I just buried my raw fed Aussie after almost 15 years and she never had a medical issue. I have a 22 year old cat who's been fed crap-in-a-bag food for most of her life. We could sit here and trade anecdotes for the rest of our lives, but it means nothing. -- Shelly http://www.cat-sidh.net (the Mother Ship) http://esther.cat-sidh.net (Letters to Esther) |

I think my point is that everyone wants to provide the best care for the pet members of their families to the best of their abilities and capabilities. For those that research raw diets and are diligent about the ingredients and preparation and work in conjunction with their vets initially to make sure that it's going well, fantastic! It does work. But not all pet owners have the time or capability to dedicate to this feeding method. In that case, commercial foods work just fine. In fact, there are many, many different foods out there for different body types and conditions. Those geared to helping support dogs health through prescription diets (liver, kidney, diabetic health etc) save lives and can give the pets comfort. Point - nobody here or elsewhere deserves to be guilted into thinking that the food they feed their much loved dog promotes ill health. It's uncalled for and certainly not substantiated by veterinary medical science. |

I provide proof of what I say. Oh, you do, do you? In the thread "Last Batch of Frontline Lost Effectiveness in a Week" you wrote, and I quote: "Also, as long as you all are feeding your pets kibble you will have terrible problems with allergies, hot spots, yeast infections, etc. OK, prove that my dog has "terrible problems with allergies, hot spots, yeast infections, etc." I warn you, that's gonna be a tough one to prove since it isn't at all true :-).
