It was two years ago tonight that a black dog came into our lives and
turned everything upside down. She upset everything.

Bella had to deal with not being an only dog, there were those adorable
puppies and all the fallout from that and then another year and a half
to settle in.

Settle in she did. She decided that we were her people and we have
certainly reaped the rewards of her protection, her cuddling and her
kisses. She was always a kisser, but it's different now, and she has to
give each of us morning kisses with her daily greeting. I'm not sure
when you learned that humans really appreciate how you seem to know
when it's time to curl up and press against Lumbar regions, but it's a
wonderful talent.

Beanie and Bella are now pals. They play together every day, usually
multiple times a day, they can share toys and they share their humans.
They even choose to sleep together.

Yes, they each have their ways to bug each other, but it's been benign
- and humans still intervene if some dog is being a pig.

So, happy got day to our sweet, happy, enthusiastic Beanie. I don't
know how we got so lucky to have you with us, and we love you!

I can't believe it's been two years... since you began enriching
the rest of us with tales of Beanie, her pups, and Bella. We are
lucky that you have Beanie, too, and that you have been willing
to share her with us.

time to entertain a dog the way another dog does.

Miss Beans and I would like to thank everyone for the well wishes. She
is relaxing next to me and heaving big satisfied sighs as she receives
her favorite ear tug-rubs.

When DH returns, she's going to look at him, get up, turn and settle
right back down in his place on the bed, having not moved an inch.
