This advertisement is an excellent example of red flags appearing in a
breeder advertisment. It presents the picture of a breeder who knows
little about breeding for the best interests of the dogs. It does not
mean this breeder is a bad or evil person. They may very well care about
their dogs. But they don't know what they need to know to provide for the
best interests of dogs they are brining into this world. The telling
factor will be whether the breeder can set aside the natural defensiveness
and learn WHY the advertisement got the reaction it does. A person who
truely cares about the best interest of their dogs will want to understand
how to do the best by the dogs they claim to love.

The most significant indication is that the pups are only six weeks onl
and yet are designates as "ready to go." Knowledgable working dog
breeders know that each day of development is significant during the firs
couple months. A series of studies (see. e.g. Clarence faneberger) have
shown significant differences in puppies left with the litter through 49
days vs puppies removed earlier than 49 days.

The next indication is the use of the term "Champion bloodlines".
Apparently the creator of the advertisement thought that being of
"Champion bloodlines" ought to be a selling point. By why should it be?
If you actually care about the conformation qualities of the dog you are
getting you will certainly want some indication as the to quality of the
sire and dam, not just their ancestors.

What most people want in a dog is some indication as to temperament and
health. To most people this is more important than some "champion" in the
background. One would expect the breeder to promote their efforts towards
the goals of appropriate temperament and good health, had they made any
such effort. And this is what an educated puppy buyer will look for.
Statements by the breeder as to what efforts they made to reduce the risk
of genetic health problems, and objective testing of sound temperament.

This web sie gives a good idea of what you have a right to expect from a
Rottweiler breeder:

This site has the kind of information an educated buyer will know about to
identify an educated breeder:
