Default Help with Leash Training

Hi, I just adopted 2 rescue dogs named Molly & Jaxon. Jaxon is a
Golden mix and Molly is a Collie mix. So far (day 2) they are
awesome. We've had a few accidents but nothing too big. I need help
training Jaxon on a leash. He is a year old and once you clip the
leash to him he will sit on his butt and will not budge. I've tried a
little cheese as a treat but I've found if I stand behind him and kind
of lift his butt with my foot he will move. Everywhere I read the
leash training is more about pulling on the leash when you take your
dog for a walk. What about when you take your dog for a sit
instead.

Thanks,

Mike

As a start, clip a light-weight 4 foot leash to him and let him
drag it around the house or yard - not when playing or running,
though, and not unsupervised.

For how long? What happens if you clip the leash to him and then
hold the leash and sit down on the couch and watch a 2 1/2 hour movie?
Does he remain sitting the entire time?
