Default Beagle Scent Problem

My lovely male beagle as a problem with the 2 scent glands located on the
sides of his bottom mouth, they are small, very putrid, and offensive. It
must be irritating to the dog because he is always rubbing it on his front
paws, thus irritating it further. I assume it's infected because it's
constantly draining out infected liquid. Anyone with experience in this
area? Thanks in advance.
BTW: do female beagles also get this problem?

Default Beagle Scent Problem

The problem can apply to both sexes. We had a Basset with the same
problem and eventually had the glands removed. That's s delicate
process and should be done by a vet who has experience in such things.

In the mouth, those wouldn't be scent glands. they would be abscesses. And
they would be very putrid. Because the dog is in trouble and needs a vet.
