The university is closed today, so I'm home. Harriet just went outside
to pee, and she is not amused. Apparently, trying to squat in snow
that's taller than your butt is A Very Big Deal.

Ours run around and trample the snow so they don't have such issues.

We had taught Bella what "shake" meant, but she has forgotten and
Beanie figured it out. They were covered in snow then DH & I (now
affectionately known as the Asthma Twins) were doing the first shovel
of the day.

Snow is falling, falling, falling and will continue until 7 PM

I've been wondering about Diddy & Shelly and see you both apparently
still have power.

I have them! Didn't need them today, as I walked out with snow shovel
in hand, and plowed my way to the mailbox. The ice-over-snow pushed
pretty easily at this point, which was a very nice surprise.

Yup, power went out here even when we had the windstorm of the century that
blackened our power grid in the region for three days last fall, We were
only out for 3 hours. That's because we have a very clever neighbor who
works for the power company and linked our block up to three different
transformer stations. When one sector goes out, he simply goes out to his
pole and flips a switch and the whole 3 country miles lights up again.

I have a very cute picture of the dog's snowy faces, but can't get my
computer to see my camera.

The BCs love being towelled off when they come in from playing in the
snow. If I forget they'll go to the bathroom, drag a towel off the rack
and bring it to me. They've started to generalize a little, though. On
very cold days they want to be towelled even if it's not wet outside.
It's a good excuse to get all silly and growly and rompy.

Cooper doesn't think snow and play belong in the same sentence, poor
freezy little naked dog.

BTDT. Harriet is all Grim Business when the ground is icy. It makes
me cringe, because I worry about her pulling or tearing something when
her feet go out from under her.

Aw. That's no fun for anyone. I assume they're going to do/have

If the Baytril doesn't work she's going to look for stones,
then a culture would be the next step.

but not as much as watching dogs who
really *love* the snow.

Even Image had a brief cavort, then she looked around to
make sure nobody saw her do it.
