No, you didn't - you cut-and-pasted a bunch of material
other people wrote to sell a bunch of crappy-assed books
written by people trying to Get Rich Quick.

Why are you so mean?! Sure I copied some stuff, but I gave them their
due credit. I put resources that I thought would be very helpful to
dog owners. The books I list are helpful ones that I have read
myself. Many people are emailing me and thanking me for the free
resources. Why are you such a downer? And yes, my-awesome-animals-1
is also my site, but on that site I am promoting a book I believe in.
This is America, we have the right to do that, but dogsavvy (Dogs,
Dogs, Dogs) Is my canine site full of free resources. STEP DOWN!

check it out and get the group discussion going. *I'd love to see this
grow and eventually add people's pet pictures and have them share
their advice, etc.

And it looks like these websites are a sort of "paint by the numbers" deal
where you plop a whole lot of precanned content into a template and then
add a few personal items. Does everyone want to make themselves seem
popular and try to get others to contribute to a site that duplicates
information available in many other places?

If you have something truly unique to present, you should buy a domain name
and then build a website with original and personal content that is not
just copied from elsewhere. You can add a few links to the original sources
if you feel passionately about them. And you can delay the onset of carpal
tunnel syndrome by eliminating the inappropriate use of "apostrophe's".

Why not contribute something to this newsgroup about your own experiences..
I'm not even sure if all the stuff you put on these "lenses" is really
about you and your dog(s). Did you have a 17 year old Lab named "Lance", or
a GSD as pictured in this one, or are they all as fictional as all the
money and fame you expect to get from your efforts?

In today's economy, unfortunately, I cannot afford the luxury of my
own domain, so I opted for squidoo which is free. My site offers
numerous free resources for dogs. It may not be original but I gave
all the authors their due credit along with links to their sites. I
dont get what is wrong with showing these resources to other dog
owners.

But I dont want to be successful, I want to show dog owners the free
resources that are out there. For example, their are tons of books
for sale on building your own doghouse, show I show them a link to
free doghouse plans, there are sites that sell books on pet medical
advice, so I show them links to free vet advice, etc. In this
economy, Im just trying to help fellow canine lover's out. While it
is not original, I give all the authors their credit along with a link
to their page. Im sorry Im upset everyone by trying to be helpful!

What, like paying them a portion of your profits for using
their stuff? Like using it without permission?

But the bottom line here, I think, is that you're still not
honest about the fact that what you're trying to do, first
and foremost, is sell books. Bad books, crappy books,
really lousy books. Books that were written to get other
people to sell, not books that were written because the
author has particular expertise or a particular philosophy.
There's a reason that they're being sold by people like you
rather than being published by a mainstream press and sold
by mainstream bookstores, or even specialty bookstores like
dogwise.com. It's because they can't pass the scrutiny of
someone who understands something about dog training. The
reason you're here is to sell shitty books.

Have you even *thought* about why the authors rely on naive
suckers like you to sell those things rather than using an
outlet that already has a massive customer base?

Okay: dogwise.com, amazon.com, their local training clubs
activity clubs or whatever.

You're still not being honest.

Would you talk that way to your grandma, how about a kudos that this
old lady braved getting on the internet and tested her wings? My
grandkids bothered me to test out the internet, finally I gave in and
did, and this is what I get in return? I only tried to offer helpful
advice from my experience and the experience of others, including the
vet I volunteer for. If this is how the internet works, no thanks!

So you want to hear how I cried my heart out for 3 months after I laid
Sampson down? How I knew it was time when he went lame in my
driveway? How grateful I was that Lance decided to take a walk in the
woods and go on his own? You want to hear how I went in the room with
Sampson only to run out of it, then back in and out again? How since
Sampson was 15 the vet's said they didn't have the heart to lay him
down because he still had so much life in his eyes and he was so
happy? Or how about how Sampson gave me a big sigh of relief that
said "Thank You" when the vet injected the needle in him? I'm sorry
this old lady left that out, it was, and is still too painful for me

================================================== ===================

OK, I am sorry that I might have been a bit harsh, but there is a lot of
crap on the internet and way too much spam on usenet, so people tend to
become jaded. I can't speak for everyone here (and in fact, I would not
even want to), but when someone suddenly appears and makes a post with a
few lines that may or may not be true, and then redirects readers to a
website, the first reaction is that it is a scam like so many others.

Usually, there is no response from those who make these posts, and often
those that do are really dishonest in their stated intentions. But it seems
that you are at worst perhaps a bit misguided and are truly a newbie who
has made a few mistakes.

Most of the criticism you have received comes from Melinda, who is a known
malcontent and essentially a wannabee internet bully. Many others here are
no better, but there are a few who would still welcome you to post your
experiences and share in your joys and sorrows of dog ownership. But those
who have wronged you most grievously will probably never be able to swallow
their pride and change their tune and play nice. Melinda, especially, likes
to make others feel worse than she does, which really takes some effort.

I am sorry to hear about your difficult and painful final experiences with
your dogs, but I was touched by your expression of love for these animals
who shared their too brief lives with you. I know how difficult it was for
me when I was being urged to have my young, healthy dog Muttley euthanized
because he attacked a young dog in an obedience class given by a prominent
"member" of this newsgroup. You can read our story in the form of a series
of newsgroup posts in the link below.

I hope you "stick by your guns" and continue to post here. Learn to ignore
the ignorant.
