Today on our walk Muttley and I found two newborn fawns, barely able to
walk, next to a matted-down area in the weeds where the mother probably gave birth only hours before. She was nowhere to be seen, and Muttley was in full prey drive, so I had to take him back to the house and then I went back up the hill with my camera: http://www.smart.net/~pstech/photos/Fawns24.jpg http://www.smart.net/~pstech/photos/Fawns25.jpg http://www.smart.net/~pstech/photos/Fawns26.jpg Paul and Muttley |

Just got back from a walk up there, and no sign of babies or mama. Muttley really sniffed out the area. There are lots of deer in the area. But also at least one coyote, but he/she is probably most active at night, and a local wildlife expert said the mother usually comes back around dusk to take her babies to a safer place. Paul |
