Default How I became an Outlaw

There were cases here in Australia where owners of greyhounds locked
their dogs after a race in cars. In our worst summer heat. When those
guys returned from their drinking the dogs had died. Awful.
So our legislators hammered a quick law together which makes it now an
offence to leave a dog unsupervised in a car.
It also makes me an outlaw.
I live by myself with beloved dog Rusty. It’s rural, high bushfire
danger area. I can’t leave him behind. Where I go Rusty comes with me.
He loves the car, it’s his second home. There are no shops/facilities
where we live. Once a week we have to drive to town for shopping.
Under-roof parking, shade, 4 windows open and a bowl with water next
to him. People passing by spot him and talk their nonsense. He gets
excited and the car gets water all over. Can’t be helped.
I get notices from police/Crime Prevention Unit telling me never to
leave the car with windows open.
Ignore.
Shopping has become a marathon. From low fat cheese I run to the skim
milk. Then in a hurry to wholemeal bread. My ancient joints should be
so happy. But they aren’t. Dashing to the car they talk back in
screaming anger.
Twice there was police called by people to the car because they had
discovered Rusty in it - UNSUPERVISED. Gravely police takes it down as
I waffle my way out of it. I can guess about these people. They are
vigilantes. I know them from Nazi Germany where I grew up and was
denounced by them. They have a twisted gene for notifying authorities.
It’s obvious to anyone that Rusty is not a neglected dog. He never
stops grinning.
I wish I were Rusty instead of me!

I love your photos! Is that Rusty in "Answering Service"?
That's a beautiful dog!

Very beautiful photography. Please show some photos of Rusty.

I liked the video of Blue Mountains. Where did that fly come from?

Thanks FurPaw - and yes it's Rusty doing the Answering Service. He has
something about the phone. I have it on a long extension lead, and
wherever I walk it, Rusty follows and will sit next to it.
Cheers - Klaus.

Thanks Paul for kind comment. There is one photo of Rusty doing the
'Answering Service'. As to that fly: it's a friend of mine who dropped
by at the wrong moment.
Cheers - Klaus and Rusty
