The American Puppy Project features Jackie Brown who has been filmed
almost daily for the first 10 months of her life. A pit bull or pit
bull type puppy dog of unknown origin. In December, she was purchased
out of a box for $20 in front of a 7-11 and was very soon abandoned by
her first owners. From these humble beginnings, she is now the subject
and star of an internet based documentary about a radical way to raise
a puppy in the 21st Century.

The Plan: No surgery. Little to no caging (that only lasted a couple
days) and was only used because intially we were afraid the big dogs
would attack her. Almost no corrections. No leash corrections
whatsoever because we train for offleash training from day one. The
first year of a puppy's life is extremely important. It's like the
first 18 years of a child's life. It should not be a time of surgery
and caging and nagging and and an over reliance on control and
disclipline and should rather be a time of hyper reliance on fun and
games and running and romping and basking in the behavior or puppies,
joining them in their mischievousness and using it to teach them
almost everything they need to know.

This first YouTube clip is the result of a friend complaining that
their new german shepherd runs out the front door and into the street.
So I made her a little clip featuring 9-10 month old Jackie Brown,
star of the American Puppy Project.
