Our soft-coated wheaten terrier is an absolutely model dog (though she
doesn't bark at strangers, so useless as a guard dog!) - fantastic with children, very good-natured etc. HOWEVER. She smells absolutely awful nearly all the time. We used to wash her almost daily but that seemed to make matters worse. Now she doesn't get properly washed at all (or only very seldom), but gets hosed down if she goes in the muddy stream. We've tried her on various types of food - dry, wet, you name it. Nothing seems to make a difference. She's nearly two years old if that makes any difference, and has been spayed. Anyone any ideas? Thanks Edward |

What kinds of dry and wet food? Poor digestion can lead to smelliness. Good quality food can make a difference, as can adding yogurt with live cultures. -- Janet Boss www.bestfriendsdogobedience.com |

Anyone any ideas? Thanks Edward Hi Edward I recently read somewhere that if bathing doesn't get rid of the smell on a dog, then a medical problem may be the cause, such as dental, kidney or diabetes. I would encourage you to get to a vet ASAP. Good luck. Lance Smith http://successis catching.com |

Thanks Edward ============ I would take her to a vet and have her checked out. She might have either a tooth, ear or skin infection. Or, her anal glands might be clogged up. All of the above have terrible odors and need a vet's treatment. |
