I hope they catch the poisoner soon. This kind of thing has
the potential of getting far uglier than the ugly mess it
already is.

I've heard of 2 serial poisonings, one here in Calgary and one
in Edmonton. The MO was to throw strychnine-laced meat into
back yards. Neither person was caught.

What are these people thinking? *******s...

I lost a dog to poisoning once as a kid. The neighbor's kid down the street
put rat poison in a hot dog and put a piece of it in the back yard near where
we'd exit the yard with tippy. We never saw him eat it, and he didn't have a
chance....

Tippy, btw, was a small, quiet mutt. Didn't bother anyone, really.

aw, that's an *awful* lesson in the suckiness of some humans
for a kid to have to learn, not to mention how unfair it was
to poor Tippy.

Yup. I wrote about it once before (in rpd.breeds?), and its

not something I
care to revisit often.

understandably. we had a dog die from eating chicken bones
when i was a kid, and the memory of it horrifies me to this
day.

Tippy was a great dog, my first as a kid. He didn't
deserve to go by vomiting up blood...

no, he sure didn't, poor pup.

He was a mixture of an indoor and an outdoor dog. When this

happened, he was
mostly indoor. He came upon the laced-meat when we went of

for a walk (I
think, I was not really present, but nearby).

that's a horrible and cowardly thing for someone to do to an
animal.

I recall you mentioning it before. That really sucks. Do you
know what became of the kid who did it?

Nope. But we suspect he's the same kid that vandalized our garage one year
while we were on vacation, causing several thousands of dollars worth of
damage.

As to what he's doing now, we have no idea.
