A Portland Oregon website for dog haters http://www.leashyourdog.com/ Hmmm. Just glanced, but I'm not sure "dog haters" is correct. Look. If those dogs are in areas where they are supposed to be on leash and they're not, then that's a problem. Leash laws DO exist, and in areas where they are in effect, dogs should be ON LEASH. It's part of being a responsible dog owner. And dog poop should be picked up on public property. It's people who don't observe these laws/rules/courtesies that contribute to a "dog hating" mentality. Agreed. I can't stand to see dog people not pick up after their dogs, or allow them off-leash where leashes are required. While the poisonings are awful and extreme measures, people who think they are above the law need to buy a clue as well. Maybe I'm spoiled because I don't have to take my dogs somewhere to exercise them, but dammit, when I DO, we are dog-ambassadors. Maybe I'm more consciencious of it because I have *big* dogs, and don't feel like perpetuating any sort of "big bad black dog" stigma. (That is certainly NOT to say everyone I see allowing their dog offleash, or neglecting to pick up after it has any one particular type/size/breed of dog moreso than any other type) Shelly (Who, while headed into a park this a.m. for a wedding reception, politely pointed out to a man that his little offleash, he was looking for it, giving a small whistle, while talking on a cell phone dog was on the other side of his car, done pooping. There were children, barefooted, running from the fountain, to the small creek, back & forth. I think he must've got my point, although he seemed miffed, he did go pick it up & collect his fluffy.) & The Boys |

G I love dogs, and as you know own three of 'em, but *I* get seriously pissed off when somebody walks their dog around the block, lets it take a dump on my front lawn, and then walks away and leaves it. Or, for that matter, lets it pee on my bushes or- even worse- on on the lovely flower gardens that two of my neighbors have. Another agreed here from me as well. I live in the boonies, no neighbors, and pick up! My in-laws constantly have dog poop in their yard (and cat as well) from neighbors. They don't have dogs, and have 2 indoor cats. They're much more polite about it than I would be! Shelly & The Boys |
