Default Dog Hair Analysis

Hi,

I know this isn't the correct forum for this topic, but so many people
read this group that I thought somebody might be able to provide some
help.

I am seeking a lab that can determine if some white dog hairs I have
are from an American Eskimo or white German Shepherd. I know this may
seem like a frivolous post, but it actually is part of a very
important case I am involved in, and I am in serious need of such
information.

Again, I apologize for the OT post and appreciate any help that you
can provide.

Sincerely,

Matt

You can find labs (Google can find them for you) that will take your
money for that, but I (personally) wouldn't put a lot of stock in
their results, even with the use of polymerase chain reaction (PCR).

I wouldn't either. Those expensive tests that supposedly identify the
breeds in a mix have turned up some really absurd, extremely unlikely
results.

I am hoping that a microscopic analysis would allow one to
differentiate between an American Eskimo and Germain Shepherd. Not
knowing anything about such matters though, I don't know if this would
be possible.

Thank-you,

Matt
