You're right on the money with cat owners. I've had cats all my life,
and every cat owner knows that a squirt gun or spray bottle is a cat
owner's best friend.

Actually, *many* cat owners don't think that. You don't speak for all of
us.

I hope Phyrie has read this because it's a good answer.

I'm here, but I have lost track of what I should be paying attention to,
apparently. What question did I ask that this is a good answer to? I am
NOT being flip, I'm just being confused....

Phyrie

Um, I'm confused too. Sorry , I'm not sure, I might have meant Starcat.
sigh

*A Lab, on the other hand, might
think it's a game - I don't know.

And with a lab, a game can still be a distraction from another
behavior.

Alison, is it okay if I still imagine that you look like VS?.

Only my OH is allowed to imagine that!

It's important to me, and please don't ask why.

I dont want to know! Perhaps you should think of CM instead.

I'm beginning to feel a little uncomfortable here. Lets change the subject.

Horses! I went to the Royal Windsor horse show on Saturday. What really
annoys me is that horses are measured in centimetres now instead of hands.
For heavens sake.

Why? Do you look like him?

I have a bigger moustache than him.

My horses will continue to be measured in hands.

Period.

Eff the EU.

Amen to that! The latest stitch up is that we have to bail out the Euro
by millions of pounds and it's not even our currency(

Alison, not a freakin' fire hose. Cat owners with multiple cats have
been using squirt bottles on cats, probably since the time of
Cleopatra, and to no ill effect. I'm pretty sure dogs won't have a
problem with it either. And if you were to squirt one of my Labrador
retrievers with water, intentionally or by accident, you'd have a
friend for life.

You're right on the money with cat owners. I've had cats all my life, and
every cat owner knows that a squirt gun or spray bottle is a cat owner's
best friend. Cats are sometimes relentless little creatures and the power
of water is mighty indeed. I've squirted many a cat, and I haven't
traumatized any of them. It just makes them stop what they're doing -
fast!

Yes although oddly, I've never really gotten into them with cats. Not sure
why, just developed different habits.

Nope, but it is a really common one in the initial stages with a new cat.
The problem is you have to catch them in the act and ensure they grasp that
the action they are doing is causing the water squirt. I just never found
it that effective for my own style.

Well, that certainly shatters the image.

Sigh.

Mind if I just call you Al from now on?

ROTFL.
