I did that after returning here. You responded to the post.

Yes, sorry about that, Matt. I searched for posts by Matt, not Rocky. I also
found your website, and you have had some beautiful dogs. It's a shame they
can't be with us forever, but perhaps that's nature's way of letting us love
more of these wonderful creatures in our lifetimes.

I just finished reading a new book, "Love Is The Best Medicine", by Nick
Trout, a veterinarian who recounts his experiences with two very special
dogs. I highly recommend it:

I just finished reading two books by James Herriot, who was a country vet in
Yorkshire, England. Also excellent reading:

You know that your mentioning of books you've read in lieu of
real experience goads. In that light, **** off.

You must have a lot of unresolved anger and frustration. I would suggest
that you take a lesson from your dogs, and learn to live each day in the
present. You don't know my own experiences with loss. I think you need to
talk to your friends some more.

Jeez.

Hey, PuppyBoy:

I think my response was quite reasonable. After all, Matt told me to "****
off". And that can mean to spend my time idly, or to get gratification by
self-stimulation. So, I responded in kind. Hey, I tried to be nice. Matt is
the one with a problem, if he must lash out at those who extend an olive
branch.

So, now you're a net nanny and trying to protect those who invite a return
slap? Leave it to you and Matt to poison what was otherwise a polite and
caring thread about a cute dog video.

As spoken by S&S: "She sure was a cutie. I guess lots of us could learn a
lesson from dogs like Ginnie."

But you seem to be unteachable.

Let's get back to discussing dog behavior, shall we?

We're talking just short of a month ago. How many Matts do you know
with dogs named Rocky who post here? Just admit it: you don't listen
to what other people say if they're not talking about you.

I also
found your website,

Stalking again, eh?

I just finished reading two books by James Herriot, who was a country vet in

Wow, I've never heard of James Herriot. I'll bet Matt hasn't, either.

You'd probably engender a lot less hostility if you stopped making
unsolicited suggestions to people, especially people about whom you
know nothing. Your own life could use some work, bucko.

So you remember every detail of every post? As I said, I searched by his
previous user name, as I thought there was something but I didn't find it.
And I apologized, which is something you could learn how to do, eh?

And your harpie posts do nothing but cast more public attention to Matt and
his grief, rather than let it be as I planned to do. But if you want to
continue with insults, I'll oblige your need for attention by countering
them, and it will have nothing but a deleterious effect on the content and
appeal of this newsgroup, which I may remind you is about dogs and their
behavior.

Really? Well, I'm glad to have informed you, then. And at least it's
pertinent to dogs, although only peripherally to behavior as opposed to
health. Here is more information for you and others who are not familiar
with him:

Always glad to enlighten you...

I do, when I've done something that needs an apology.

I doubt that you will ever enlighten me when it comes to dogs or
anything to do with them. I read all Herriot's books years ago.

And yet you are still not a better person after having done so. I guess you
didn't "get" the parts where making assumptions about people or relying on
hearsay backfired, while embracing every person's basic worth and treating
them kindly and without prejudicial judgment went far toward developing
meaningful dialog and mutual respect. But then you'll never be "half the
man" James Herriot was.

And I still recommend the book "Love Is The Best Medicine", by Nick Trout, a
veterinarian who recounts his experiences with two very special dogs.

Maybe you will learn something; if nothing else, possibly a better way of
interacting with other people, and perhaps dogs as well.

There are really no words when it comes to the loss of a beloved pet. I
have lost many through the years, but some really cut me to the core even
now. I still tear up when thinking about a cat I lost to lymphoma 2 years
ago. Sometimes you can see it coming and sometimes it hits you like a
freight train with no warning.

Friday and Rocky were clearly very cherished dogs. And how lucky they were
to be so loved.
