What I read was used *properly* with the right limiters in dose, CS
seems to validly help. The problems seem to largely have been taking
multiple other items with CS in it and not realizing they exceeded a
dosage (and info on how much was really safe was slim back then).

You can't overdose on CS. What other items were you taking that had CS in
it?

Umm, I've never taken it. 'What I read was...' Past history, when it was a
common thing.

It's not my choice, but then we use vinegar based washes and other
simple things on Cash's ears.

Make sure you use plain white vinegar in ears and not apple cider vinegar
which can make it worse.

Yup. We actually get it mixed at the vets, (about 2$ a bottle but the
bottle shape of the nozzle makes it easier). I could make my own, but don't
bother.

No real 'medication' needed, just simple
stuff to help him heal himself for that. The simple stuff makes the PH
of the ear 'unfriendly' to bacteria and yeast from what I gather. No
antibiotics or wild things you'd find bad I bet.

Vinegar is a disinfectant. I used it extensively when I had a cleaning
business. I use it now in my dish washer and washing machine and I keep a
bottle of half vinegar and half water for general cleaning. Works great on
those wood floors without hurting them.

I use lots of things too for cleaning and tend to simple natural stuff. If
I wanna kill germs, beach mixed with water works for many spots. I'll try
the vinegar too. I hadn't heard that one and some things can't take bleach.
I should have thought about it though as I know to soak shower curtins in it
periodically and it both cleans and removes any filmy build-up.

Also vinegar does a dandy job of killing weeds or grass growing anyplace you
don't want it but won't hurt any animals and has no toxic runoff. We use it
for the seams along sidewalks and the driveway.
