If I've missed one apologies as I haven't memorized a list. We do have
a word for "heel" though I'm not sure she understands it yet.

Okay, I did miss one:

"Nice"

For when I'm giving her a treat and I want to teach her not to take my
fingers off.

Put a very tasty treat in your hand and close your hand into fist, do it
the way so your dog sees it. Now present it to her but do not release the
treat until she backs from your hand. Repeat few times and watch her
learning. No words/command needed, praise is ok.
WARNING: at first you may want to use gloves.

Given your concern with rpdb people's backgrounds, I'm a little
surprised you'd choose to watch random anonymous YouTube videos for
training information. You'd be far better off buying a training video
made by someone like Ian Dunbar. I've never met a trainer who prefers
to start training in a public place full of distractions. Dogs need
to concentrate, just like people, and training in an environment with
too many distractions can cause some dogs to just shut down.

That's the point. With the variety of different training methods and
the fact that there are those I would not like, to choose one at random
that may not appeal to me (such as the one with the e-collar) makes no
sense either.

To watch several from different people offers a broader perspective. To
see different training styles and philosophies is more beneficial for
me. Instead of the question, "Do I like this? Yes or no." the question
becomes, "Okay, which one do I like the best? Which one makes the most
sense to me? Which one fits my way of handling my dogs? Which one am I
the most likely to stick with?"

In addition, you can compare the similarities as well as the
differences. For you, maybe blasphemy. For me, I trust my ability to
weed out the chaff.

Besides, I would not have been so questioning of the people here if all
that were posted were beneficial info concerning dogs. It's the
bickering, name calling and so forth that made me question the people
here.

LOL! Yes she has very sharp little teeth and she gets over eager to get
at the goodie.

Default Sleep time and wake time

Sierra had an awesome night last night, her quietest yet. Settled right
down, slept thru the night and even when I got up in the wee hours
myself she did not stir.

When we did start moving around as we do before we get up, she sat up,
alert, but even then not a peep. She's getting the hang of our
sleep/wake routine.

I got wondering about something this morning. As dogs get to know our
individual body smells, I wonder what they think when we put a different
scent on? I use the same lotion every day and it has a smell on top of
my own, but today I used a different one with a very strong scent. I
just wonder how that registers for them.

Did you get that, Sonofdog?

Queen Delarose demands a certain ambiance when she receives beneficial
information. It's not enough just to provide the actual beneficial
information. No, no! It must be hand-delivered to Her Royal Highness
in a plain vanilla wrapper, atop a velvet pillow. Otherwise she'll
"question" it.

Sigh.
