Default Sierra's Halloween

Forgot about it being Halloween weekend. We don't do Halloween. It's
the one night a year where anybody can hide behind a mask and everyone
will open their doors. In our old neighborhood an elderly couple got
attacked for that and it was pretty brutal.

Our kitchen has big windows on the front porch, and even though we
didn't have a porch light on, we were getting our dinner plates so the
kitchen was all lit up. That was all it took for the Halloweeners to
come.

I didn't even see them. Dakota alerted us, going crazy barking at the
windows. That's when I saw them on the front porch looking in the
windows. When they left we closed the blinds and it didn't happen again.

I was surprised that Sierra didn't play monkey-do and bark along with
Dakota. So far, Sierra has been very quiet as far as alert barking.
Even outdoors when the neighbor's dogs are barking, she is quiet. When
the whole neighborhood erupts with dogs barking and setting each other
off, not a peep.

She's going to end up like Dakota. We'll need to teach her to alert
bark, but it doesn't look like we'll have to teach her not to bark at
the wind blowing.

In that way we've been very lucky. But like Dakota in the early days,
Sierra does bark if we go out of her sight.
