Yes, I will definitely put them up. But give me a while. I'm on a mission to get my house cleaned, yard mowed, bills paid, filing done, boxes unpacked, dogs vetted, yadda yadda yadda. I took vacation this week to do it, and blew Monday through Wednesday. Monday and Tuesday I was laid low by CFS (chronic fatigue syndrome) in a way I hadn't been for over a year, and yesterday we had a huge storm that broke branches off my trees (adding hours of yard work) and kicked out the electricity for about 6 hours. Sigh. :} PetsMart Pet Trainer My Kids, My Students, My Life: http://hometown.aol.com/dfrntdrums/m...age/index.html Last updated June 27 at 10:00 a.m. Leah!!! So sorry to hear about your CFS!! - I am just crawling out of the end of a nasty flu virus - fought it for 4 days and then crashed - bed and tonic was my only course of action, so I kinda understand. And what with our new pup only being in the house last 2 weeks, it was baaaad! Had to give him lots of TLC whilst wanting to cry like a baby myself for feeling so poorly - oh well, I am in the same boat now, just getting over things and the house needs a good scrub!! Please dont rush with the pup piccies, I understand completely. Get better soon. Holistic therapist mode kicking in --- do you know whats causing your CFS?? If you dont mind me poking my nose in and you wanna send me a private email, I am happy to respond that way?? All the best, Tracy ) |

To make a long story short by paraphrasing my doctor, a lifetime of above-average intensity, badly-handled stress. :} The past year has been pretty good. About two months ago I had the flu, and since then I've had a really hard time staying on an even keel. A friend put me on a parasite cleanse (which is certainly... um... cleaning me out :}, and I take iron pills and Sea Silver. When I take everything, I usually can get through a day fairly well. But sometimes I forget to take it for a couple of days, and I crash. This friend shudders every time I let a dog kiss my face. She's sure that all my problems are caused by parasites. Oh well, cloves and wormwood can't hurt. :} PetsMart Pet Trainer My Kids, My Students, My Life: http://hometown.aol.com/dfrntdrums/m...age/index.html Last updated June 27 at 10:00 a.m. |

Its a major NO, NO in aromatherapy and shouldnt be used in *any* therapy either internally or externally. SAFETY DATA: Toxic. Abortifacient.Habitual use can cause restlessness, nightmares, convulsions, vomiting and, in extreme cases, brain damage. In 1915 the French banned the production of the drink Absinthe with this plant, due to its narcotic and habit-forming properties. Regardless of the probable tiny amount in each dose you are taking, it will accumulate in your system and possibly make you very ill - listen to sound advice, please!! Lots of rest, plenty of fluids and gentle exercise would be your best course of action - and if stress is the major cause of your CFS, yoga and/or counselling may help, sweetie )Tracy xx |

Forgot to add, regarding your possible need for iron, try natural foods,
rather than supplements - that way, you get fibre **and vit C**, which aids the absorption of iron into your system - check out link below for good info. http://www.vegansociety.com/html/info/info11.html Cheers, Tracy |

Solo ran straight up the middle of the field. I wish I could say that was a foreign experience to me - but you did a nice job of setting the scene. The sheep took off in the opposite direction from the way they were supposed to come (i.e, to me), heels kicking up and tails going around in pinwheels. "Crazy red dog at twelve o'clock!" Solo widened out, too late (instead of a pear, his outrun looked like a keyhole) and then stopped, and looked at me, and tilted his head. "What do I do now?" This surprised me, because what he normally does when sheep run is run even faster and then try to grab one. But where I thought he might be out of control on the trial field, instead, he was over cautious. A nice kind of surprise. So I did what they always tell novice handlers with novice dogs to do when their dogs are in trouble -- I left the post and helped my dog. snip I do think he could have been a dog in the right hands. But all novice handlers say that about their first and favorite dogs. True I'm not sorry, though. Really stupid is believing that people like Jerry Howe and Marilyn Rammell are going to just go away because you people act like fools. Why do you act like fools? I really have no idea, and I don't really care. And, to date: I've not seen ONE come forward and actually admit to buying and having success with his little black box. I think I'm going to get one myself for Father's day and take it down to the Animal Shelter for their use and testing. You would never believe the results, so you'll never know. Anyone by now that doesn't see a scam man coming by Jerry's posts deserves to get what is sure to be coming to him! LOL! I don't see a "scam man", so I guess I and Longsuffering Wife and Rollei will just have to get what we deserve, eh? As Joey (Dogman) says, "poor Rollei.".......right. Terri Yes it was, and that is sad. Robert, Longsuffering Wife and Rollei (do I get to listen to the box first?) You are indeed a hero, a man of exceptional talent=3DAD, who tirelessly devotes his days to crafting posts =3DADto alert the world to animal abuse. We are lucky to have you, and more people should come to their senses and support your valuable work. Have you thought of establishing a nonprofit charity to fund your important work? Have you thought about holding a press conference so others can learn of your highly worthwhile and significant work? In closing, my only suggestion is that you try to keep your messages short for most readers may refuse to read a long message even if it is from the wise, heroic Puppy Wizard. I wish you well in your endeavors. --Marshall Dermer -------------------------------------- "If you've got them by the balls their hearts and minds will follow," John Wayne. Date: 2001-07-09 09:56:22 PST In article The Swan at writes: Our gorgeous little pup is 10 weeks old and a joy. She is causing us major worry however. She hates being left alone for any amount of time. She loves her crate and is perfectly happy being in there as long as there is someone in close vicinity - but as soon as you leave the panic starts. We have tried leaving her for short periods, she has toys and snacks with her, we even leave the tv or radio on for company - but she yips, barks and whines frantically. She tries to dig her way out and then soils the crate. I'm really quite worried about this and would appreciate any advice you could give. Thanks in advance. Anita. Dear Anita, First, your little dog is just a "baby" so I would not assume that what she is doing now predicts what she will be doing later. But if you want to change something consider this. If human attention is a reward for your girl and you attend to her when she is behaving anxiously then you are unwittingly encouraging her to behave anxiously. Here is an intervention. It involves Differential Reinforcement of Other Behavior (abbreviated DR0). Leave your dog alone and if she does anything else besides behave anxiously for say 2 sec. return and offer her a reward (This may just be your presence.). When you can reliably leave her for 2 sec without her behaving anxiously then up the time to 3 sec. Gradually over a period of days gradually require her to do something else beside behaving anxiously for longer and longer periods of time. Also, when you play with her immediately ignore her when she makes anxious sounds but quickly attend to her when she does not behave anxiously. We have a Havanese. He was eight weeks old when he arrived at our home. He is a tender guy but that first night when he cried, alone in his crate, we just ignored him. It was hard, but we remember finally putting our little son's crying, at 3 AM, on extinction. When we put our son's crying on extinction, that morning his crying got louder and louder and finally stopped "as if he were dead." I crawled on my belly to his room until I could hear him breathing and then returned to my wife. Today, our son is almost 21 years old and apparently no worse for the extinction procedure. As for soiling the crate. We would put the crate in an enclosed area so our dog could eliminate on the newspaper rather than in the crate. One approach is to put the crate/dog in the bathroom with the door open and newspaper on the bathroom floor. --Marshall OF CURSE EVERY BEHAVIORIST KNOWS DOGS DO NOT WANT TO **** IN THEIR BEDROOM... even IF it got newspapers on the floor.
