Noticed something a little odd about Khan this morning. He appeared to be holding himself funny, a little scrunched over. And, kept attempting to sit, like he couldn't stand up for more than a second. He went downstairs to his favorite sleeping spot, but I kept having nagging doubts about how his back end was, so called him back upstairs and watched him climb the steps. No problem. Watched him walk, and it was a little funny. Took him out, where he attempted to pee, but all scrunched over, like he wanted to poop instead. Then it struck me. Called him over, lifted up the fluffy tail and found a piece of grass hanging half way out. One little yank (he didn't like that at all), and it was out. All of a sudden, I have a happy, smiley dog who is walking, running and doing everything else just fine. Miracle cure, that's what it was. Suja |

I dunno about you, if that were ailing me I'd be happy once it was removed.... Chad -- Looking for a pet? Bet that elevated you in Kahn's eyes! I've "cured" a couple of my dogs this way, when something stringy they shouldn't have eaten doesn't get digested, and won't come all the way out... That little bit of unwanted aft stimulation can really make a dog miserable. FurPaw -- Brain cells come and brain cells go, but fat cells live forever. To reply, unleash the dog. |

And then me when I have to wash the dog's behind when we get back home. I've heard that its a fairly good idea not to force it out, btw. If its a blade of grass or something relatively small it'd probably be okay, but if it is something like dental floss or otherwise potentially long or clumpy-- anything that could be tangled up in there--don't yank it out. Call the vet instead.... Chad -- Looking for a pet? He scared me half to death, and I had visions of running out to the vet to find out that there is something seriously wrong with him. Your dog acting like his hind end can't really hold him up is NOT fun. Suja |
