Subject: Dog's leg to be amputated
From: Dimpled Chad Date: Tue, Sep 2, 2003 10:07 AM Message-id: Hi Chad~ Yes everything is fine. Super really. Terrific! I'm glad to hear. I have forgotten though how much time posting to the internet takes. WOW! Heh. No kidding. I'm much better with the filter than when I got here, but even now I have to skip huge blocks. Thanks for asking . Paulette~ Hey, you bet. Good to see yas again.. Best, Chad Thanks and glad to see you still here. Lots of new names, too. And I guess I am getting OLD as I have forgotten a lot of the old ones. ; ) Paulette |

Good News! The preliminary surgery that was done to try and save the
leg has worked. Apparently the bone looks healthy enough to allow the leg to heal. Needless to say my friend is delerious with joy. She took the dog for the amputation appointment but when they removed the bandages they decided things looked really good. Thank you all for you responses. (Carol) wrote in message . com... My friend's dog was hit by a car last week. Her rear leg was badly injured. They tried to save it but the bone just isn't healthy enough. She's due for amputation the day after tomorrow (Sept 2). My friend is a basket case. Can anyone tell me what she should expect. This is a medium size dog. I think she weighs about 50 lbs. She's like a small ridgeback with a very sweet disposition. I keep telling her the dog will be fine with three legs, but I'm sure she'd rather hear it from someone who has been through it. Any idea what the recovery period is? Thanks so much. Jane |
