So that's where our "English Summer" went !

Judy was a wussy and I used to put a waterproof coat on her and carry
a brolly.

as Kelly pointed out, it's been raining like mad the past few
days (lightning, flooding, and tornados included, free of
charge!). harriet, as i've mentioned, does not *do* rain.
even a mere sprinkle is Not Allowed.

so, the first day wasn't too bad. the dogs were edgy but not
actually obnoxious. day two was a bit difficult. i had to
fall back on last winter's foul weather stand-by: indoor
pseudo agility. day three was a nightmare. harriet wasn't
interested in indoor pseudo agility, she didn't want to play
fetch, she didn't want to wrestle with me *or* elliott (who
kept asking her, ever hopeful), she had zero attention span
for working on tricks. all she wanted to do was whine about
how bored she was ("i wanna *something*). this takes the form
of her going to the door, looking pointedly at me, then
woo-wooing when i ignore her because i know damned good and
well that she's not going to actually go *out* in the eeevil
rain (lather, rinse, repeat).

the rain is supposed to last until tomorrow. happy happy joy
joy! so, does anyone have any other ideas for indoor
entertainment? (yeah, i know i should just *make* her go out
in it, but since it was actually storming much of the time,
that wasn't a good idea.)

elliott, BTW, isn't afraid of a little rain. he spent a
couple of hours outside in it yesterday and that seemed to've
cured his cabin fever. have i mentioned that he's Absolutely
Perfect?

it was a hoot! it cracks me up whenever she stuffs a ball in
her mouth, anyway, since she's got a silly Boxer mouth that
balls just *do*not* fit in. with all the rest on top of that,
it was pretty entertaining.

Lola routinely uses Manu as a hurdle, but my favorite
variation is where she and Manu run straight at each other,
then she jumps over his head at the last minute.

oh yeah! that's usually an outside game. harriet likes to
boing over elliott when he's standing around being a doofus.
she also does it when they're playing tag or when they've both
got the butt-tuck zippy-zoomies. sometimes elliott tries to
grab a foot in his mouth as she flies over him, but he's never
quick enough to actually get one.

you can have it back now, i think we're done with it!

i'm seriously considering getting a slicker for harriet. i
don't think she'd mind, since she's used to wearing a
sweater/sweatshirt when it's cold.
