AMAZING, yesterday I was down Cape, and went to an antiques shoppe.
There was the proprieter of the shop, that looked older than any of the things in the shoppe. She sw the Brown Dogs in the car, and said . "Oh I have a dog too" I said, "what kind?" "A Belgian Malinois" the little old lady replied. "He is out back" I said, "Oh I would like to see him" So I go around back, and there is this pup about 5 months of age, tied to a dog house, barking and jumping, and with a much too tight collar on. A SPAZZ DOG if you know what I mean. The poor dogs that NEVER get off a leash and are regulated for eternity in the back yard. ![]() Anyway, I check him out and his surroundings, and now I am a bit dirty and oh so smelly as this dog STUNK. I go back into the shoppe, and ask how long she has had him. Oh I bought him, and now he might be too much for me. I can't even go back there much to feed him, as he has made so many wholes in the lawn, so I have a neighbour boy bring the dog food and water... We talk some more and I know that this dog is going to be sent to the pound sooner or later... So with all my wonderful charm,; ) she signs my contract, gives me the papers, and the dog, and a wee bit of money... And off we go.... I named him ODIN... I named him ODIN... Paulette~ - Damn you work fast ![]() I am glad that you came by, and that the former owner of the little chap was workable.....poor little dog. So is he going to stay at your place or are you going to give him some manners and then find him a new home ? I just knew that story was going to have a happy ending. Boy, it sounded just like an accident waiting to happen. Your powers of persuasion must be something to behold. Well how do you think I get al those rare antiques? heeheh Actually I didn't have to turn her arm much. I knew her from years ago, when she was younger and so was I. Things were serendipitous though for sure, as I only had the 3 of the girls in the truck, and they bitched at him a bit, ; ) but Odin did not have to fend off my beasty boys as they were out at the shack. Odin is one lucky little pup! Hopefuly I will do right by him. Oh gee you should have seen him get out of that back yard! Then we went for a walk and I wanted to get him cleaned off a bit, so we took a dip at the beach. I have a new home all picked out, after he gets back from the vets and recoups his *loss* , and we get him used to the good life. : ) I never had one of these dogs before, or I probably have had, but thought the dog was most likely a mix. He is mostly black, and is very handsome. I cannot keep him though! SEVEN DOGS ARE ENOUGH! I promise you though he will have a wonderful home, surrounded by horses and donkeys and a sheep or two. : ) From: "Lone Hansen" Date: Sun, Sep 28, 2003 9:28 AM Message-id: I named him ODIN... Paulette~ - Damn you work fast ![]() I know, I cut to the chase and want to get the deal down NOW. I am glad that you came by, and that the former owner of the little chap was workable.....poor little dog. He isn't that little. The lady was nice, just didn't know what at she was getting into. Her last dog was a Keeshound, and he lived a nice life with her. This dog was not the right match, and there in lies the problem ,most times. So is he going to stay at your place or are you going to give him some manners and then find him a new home ? Well I just got back late last night from our place down Cape, and because all 7 of my dogs were there, I felt it would be better to leave hubby and the dogs there working, and I brought Odin to the vet yesterday after noon to have him all checked out, and ready for surgery. Usually I bring a dog home first to chill out and relax, but felt I could not this time, and this time was the way to go , as I did not have a place for him to be by himself down there. Anyway,he has had his surgery, been tested for heartworm, and any other problems he might have had, and I am picking him up tomorrow morning,so we will have a fresh start to making him one happy dog. I really did not want to desert him so fast, but I did give him a very happy morning and part of the afternoon and got him pooped out, AND I do have to think about my crew as well. Oh and Congratulations on a job well done ![]() Well , thanks, but you can give me a congrats in a year when I feel Odin is REALLY part of his new family. I do have a place though ready, and I am very close to the person that will be getting him, and I have dopted dogs to her before. HE is going to have a wonderful life if I have anything to say about it, AND I ALWAYS DO ; ) Paulette~ Lone --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
