Endocrine problems like hypothyroidism and Cushing's often
show up first as skin/coat problems, but typically with
pattern splotches. For example, thyroid-related skin/coat
problems generally first show up on the haunches and
thighs. But even if it's an allergy you'd want a diagnosis
from a veterinarian - these things are treatable.
