I am researching for my next dog(s). It won't be for a while, but here
is what I'm looking for. 1. Very trainable, wants to please type 2. Good
with kids, other dogs and cats
3. Playful, sense of humour 4. Calm indoors, active outdoors. 5. Medium
size 30-50 pounds. 6. Good nose and desire for scent discrimination 7. A
dog who likes to fetch 8. Low shedder. I can tolerate the seasonal
shedders, but I want little hair in the house the rest of the time We
are middle-aged people, middle 50s. These dogs will be our retirement
dogs. We plan to travel in our motor home and we have little dirt bikes
for exploring the desert.
We want dogs small enough to ride on the bikes when they get tired. My
husband is a rock hound and I want to train the dogs to hunt for
meteorites. I recently heard that dogs can discriminate between real
and fake emeralds so I figure they can pick up the combination
iron/nickel that makes up meterorites. Any suggetions?
