I have a 5 year old rescued shih tzu and his left eye is blind from years
of neglect of dry eye. It also has glaucoma which is costing a fortune to
treat. My question is what are the pros and cons of having it removed and
what should I expect to pay for this surgery. I am in San Diego, CA..

It depends on who does the surgery. Are you talking board certified
ophthalmologist? Hubby vet said if he did it (not boarded) he would estimate
between $250 and $400 depending on how long it takes and possible
complications. We charge anesthesia in time.

Good luck. You'll get some good feedback here.
