Default pointer puppy / strong odor

steve wrote:
Hi,
I just bought a pointer puppy (3.5mo) from a breeder. The breeder had 10
dogs (pointers and dobermans) in the house and the house had a very strong
odor. She bathed the pup and we brought her home last night. The pup still
has a very strong odor.

Is it normal for a pointer? I though they were a sporting group dos and
should not have very strong oder? What can we do to minize the smell?

Thanks,
Steve

What kind of odor is it...chemical cleaner, dog sweat, cigarette smoke?
If it's a strong chemical, I'd watch for signs of asthma in the pup?
If it's hot & sweaty, give it another bath. Since you'll probably take
it to the vet for a checkup & shots, ask the vet to give the pup a sniff.
