Blood work came back pretty much as expected, which is good. Frankie's
platelet count is now well into the normal range.

YAY! I am so happy to hear this, Chad!

We also see that Frankie is
slightly anemic (cbc is at 32%, where normal is around 35% IIRC),

I suspect the cbc wasn't 32%, but the PCV was. (PCV stands for packed
cell volume, and has to do with the percentage of red blood cells vs.
serum/plasma)

Until next update, Frankie sends his love. He's enjoying so much the
extra peanut-butter treats, and thinks he's in doggy bliss. And it is
snowing! What fun to watch Frankie in it! Last night he really enjoyed
it. Today he's a bit slower, as he has been since this whole thing
came on. I'd be so happy if he'd regain his full enthusiasm, but I'll
take what I get when I get it.

As he should enjoy the pampering. The little trooper sure deserves it!
Take good care of yourselves, Chad--one day at a time.

It was very fun. Perhaps Frankie would enjoy it. If he's not toy
oriented, perhaps some of those peanut butter treats would engage his
enthusiasm.

Oh, that's a great idea! Might try that!
I think the enthusiasm is hip related, so we're resting him a spell and
then are going to try introducing treats or mountain rescue!

Mind you, I'm not sure it's fair to say the monkey actually *felt*
rescue, what with all the kill shakes Harlan was giving it on
retrieval.

Well, the monkey was proud, I'm sure, to play a part in the training, however
(*ouch*) painful...

Thanks Abby! Now we have to hope that the liver keeps working well as we
start lowering the dosage of the steroids....

Ahh. That makes more sense. Thanks.
