Default 4:30 a.m....Snow!!

Okay, I think that I am now probably considered certifiable
where it comes to my dogs.
I pulled out my new French Press, made a batch of coffee (holy
crap, do I ever love it!!), bundled up & grabbed a couple
of glow in the dark toys.
Why???

Because we have SNOW here in the muddy valley where I live!
Several inches, and it's *still* coming down.
Yay!
The dogs are having a blast, running around in the dark, playing
in the snow. Coda got a bit miffed because he couldn't find
his frisbee, but Bodhi just kept running. Around and around, running,
sniffing everything in sight.

I was so excited, I tried to take a few photos--thank goD for digital!
Baby Bodhi was born in the winter of Michigan last year, so he's at
least seen it before, but playing? Oh man, he was having such fun!
And Coda, even prissy-pants Big Red was out having a great time!

I don't want to go to work.

i'm jealous! we got a brief, light snow a few weeks ago, but
it only stuck around for a day or two. i'm in a
doggie-snow-antics deficit, damnit!

I don't want to go to work.

that's why snowdays were invented. HTH!

It's New Year's Day, and it has been snowing all day here in
Portland. I think we're going to have a good foot or so (don't laugh
all you folks who live where you have a real Winter - this is the most
we've had in my 7 years living here).

The doggies are snoozing by the fire, after exhausting themselves when
I took them, my daughter, and a sled over to the elementary school
with some ok hills.

Sadie ran around like a complete maniac, whereas Jonesy did this
ridiculous snow-plow thing, running along with her nose down in the
snow.

Sadie's coat seemed to shed the snow really well, none of it stuck to
her. Poor Jonesy's big ole Beardie feet kept getting snowballs matted
in them.

Lots of fun for all though of course.

Happy New Year...

It's so weird, we've got about a foot & a half, and it's stayed all week
(since Sunday late night/Monday a.m.). It's currently *still* snowing.

The doggies are snoozing by the fire, after exhausting themselves when
I took them, my daughter, and a sled over to the elementary school
with some ok hills.

We crushed a path w/ the truck in a nearby field, then hooked up an
inner-tube to the Artic Cat (John's 4WD toy). Weeeeee! For the
first time since I bought them, I was able to use my Carhartt coveralls!
(I bought them last spring for herding in *nasty* weather)

Sadie ran around like a complete maniac, whereas Jonesy did this
ridiculous snow-plow thing, running along with her nose down in the
snow.

That is what Bodhi did. John was shoveling snow off the pathway,
and flinging it out into the yard. Coda was trying to catch the flung
snow! Then we made snowballs & Bodhi would leap high off the
ground to try & catch them. I got a few good shots of his still
bare belly as he's all stretched trying to catch them!

Sadie's coat seemed to shed the snow really well, none of it stuck to
her. Poor Jonesy's big ole Beardie feet kept getting snowballs matted
in them.

Both dogs had snow balled up on their leg featherings. Bodhi had
snowballs hanging from his britches and mane (he was snowplowing).
He didn't care, that is a dog that *loves* the snow! I couldn't believe
it,
John gave him a "down" command before tossing snowball, he
did every one of them on his bare belly!

Lots of fun for all though of course.
Happy New Year...

Definitely lots of fun. This is more snow that I've seen in the valley
in more than 10 years. It's not much, compared to most places, but
it's great!
Shelly (Glad to have 4WD & a husband to cart me back & forth to work!)
& The Boys (Glad to have snow!!)
