Subject: cat scratch..in eye
From: "Joe and Michelle Lyson" Date: 8/18/03 1:26 PM Pacific Anyway I would love to hear some experiences from others...hopefully some with happy endings for the dog...(the cat is being declawed on the 1st) My Kevin had a scratch from a cat once, it WAS very painful and my regular vet referred us to an eye doc. A word of caution: if you're regular vet wants to give you a cortisone product for the eye do get a second opinion. These can slow the healing process on the cornea and at times make it worse. We got antibiotics only and the eye was fine after a week or so. Deb Shi the Svelte Georgie, Scurry-Stalker & Baby Lover Hank the Tank |

Hi ,
I'm sorry about your Apso , I hope he recovers . Your daughter found him and took him home ?. He could belong to someone and they're looking for him. have him checked for a microchip , check with the local rescue and vets and put up posters saying he is found. Please don't get your cat declawed. It is drastic surgery http://www.littlebigcat.com/declawing.htm http://community-2.webtv.net/zuzu22/STOPDECLAWCOM/ He is new and feeling defensive and need to find his place within the household, I have a cat and two guinea pigs and sometimes she will pat them on the bum but never hurts them . Why not post to rec pets cats health and behaviour for advice on how to introduce cats . If your daughter found him outdoors then it is used to being outdoors and will find it hard to adjust. He will be used to roads and streetwise . -- Alison wrote in message ... Last night my Lhasa Apso was scratched in the eye by our cat, we have an appointment to take him to the vet this afternoon. Every vet that I called said that he could lose the eye,so of course I am very concerned and was wondering if anyone has had experience with this? His eye is watery and he is keeping it closed, he is not acting like himself, just kinda laying around but I am sure it hurts pretty bad. I have washed the eye out a couple of times and clipped the hair around his eye so that it does not get in the eye.Anyway I would love to hear some experiences from others...hopefully some with happy endings for the dog...(the cat is being declawed on the 1st) Michelle |

(the cat is being declawed on the 1st) is there no way to keep the dog and cat separated when you can't supervise them? declawing is pretty major surgery. -- shelly (perfectly foul wench) and elliott and harriet http://home.bluemarble.net/~scouvrette |
