Hello all-

Please forgive the mass-email form letter.
Im trying to reach as many people as possible as quickly as I can.
Carol Backers suggested I write to all of you.

My friend, John, just adopted a young female borzoi.
She panicked and escaped from him when he went to get her out of the
car when he brought her home. He is a wonderful responsible home

and
this was just a horrible accident.

He lives near Buffalo, NY ,in Hamburg, and the dog is near Lake

Erie in
this area.

She ran out onto a frozen part of Lake Erie, fell through and water
rescue and other rescue folks came to help. She was rescued from

the
water by divers only to escape from the rescuers again. She was wet
and freezing and was appearing to be hypothermic but still managed

to
completely escape and, after being sighted and lost again numerous
times throughout the rest of the day, we now dont know where she is.
She has been running up and down about a 5 mile stretch of the
shoreline all day.

The unfortunate thing is that John is in NY on business for a few
months and doesnt have any real friends there, so has been out

hunting
all alone!

Is there anyone who can help hunt or put flyers up or know of anyone
who can help? Even just suggestions for us? We'd love any help we
can get.

Any ideas on any people who could take friendly dogs out with them

to
try to coerce her to come in? She is used to being with many dogs

and
isnt used to men, which also makes things even harder for him.

We are desperate!

This weather is awful!

John - cell # (716) 946-7413
(He will not have time to be on email)

Many, Many Thanks.
