Raw feeders by
Kathleen
A friend of my husband raises and butchers rabbits for human
consumption. He sells the skinned, dressed, chilled carcasses to
customers who order them in advance for $5 USD each.
I told my husband that his friend might be missing out on a much larger
market, given the recent vogue for raw...

Khan's rear assembly is falling apart pretty quickly. He is needing
assistance to get in to the dogmobile, and going up stairs. Vet visit is
scheduled for Wednesday morning to re-check Thyroid, repeat Adrenal panel,
do a tick panel, maybe re-do x-rays, talk about other possibilities like DM,...

ALABAMA Rabies Law by
Kris L. Christine
Alabama pet owners not wanting their state to be the only one in the country with an annual rabies booster requirement for dogs and cats have begun requesting their Legislators to change the law to conform to the national 3 year standard. Below is a copy of my letter to the Alabama Public Health...

New drug for Cushing's by
Melinda Shore
This came across a mailing list. Don't know anything about
the drug but it may be worth asking your vet about if your
dog has been diagnosed:

Babysitting a friend's dog -- tips? by
jkdrummer
We're about to have this huge dog visit us for 4 days. We have 3 cats
and a 3 year old sheltie. We'll be babysitting this lab that's very
rambucious and large. Does anyone have tips on how to handle this
beast in our home? Slow introductions maybe? Ideas?

Heartworm Diagnosis by
kat
My youngest daughter dropped her dog (Bella 1 year old GSP) off this morning
to be spayed. They have had her approximately 2 months. The people they
got her from had her for approximately 6 months and before that she was at
the breeders.
Apparently the breeder and /or previous owner never had...

Too many housetraining accidents for me... by
markman2008@gmail.com
Hello everyone...
When is it reasonable to expect my puppy to stop messing on the
carpet?
"Christmas" is a lab/collie mix and is almost 6 months old... I have
heard that if we clean the carpets to get rid of the smell, it might
help. I ordered some odor removal from www.pbgone.com today.

Doggie Wheelchairs by
DOC828NDF
I have an English Bulldog, who I've adopted from a rescue group that
dicided that it wasn't in their interest to treat a torn tendon in one
of its rear legs. I've been thinking about getting one of those doggie
wheelchairs but I'm wondering if anyone out there has experience with
the...

Aging and reality, thoughts that bother me by
Janet Boss
The recent (current?) illness of my 3 dogs really brought aging to light
for me. Since we don't know the cause of the illness, there are a lot
of unanswered questions, but there is no doubt in my mind that Marcie's
youth and general health kept her healthier through all of this than
Lucy's...

SAR seminar by
diddy[_2_]
Tuck has participated this week in a Search and Rescue Seminar, thus
expanding his exposure to new skills.
We have practiced many tracking/trailing scenarios, and he's done quite
well. His point of weakness is that he needs stronger victim loyalty. He
indicates articles strongly. But his...

Which flea tick and heartworm med to use by
Me
There was a news article I read recently which told of the dangers of
over the counter flea and tick medicines. Vets are supposedly seeing a
large increase in the number of animals with liver and other problems
due to these medicines and chemicals in the pet food.
What medicines do you all think...
