Shepherd Mystery illness by
Lee J. Moore
One may as well begin with Steve38's letter to rec.pets.dogs.health:
Hello.
My parents have two five year old German Shepherd's, otherwise
very vibrant and healthy. Three days ago one of them (Simba)
had a sudden loss of appetite and got very quiet, one more day
passed and it became...

Dogs and peas by
Lee J. Moore
Peas aren't dangerous to dogs are they? A few hours ago I
stripped 2kg of peas from their pods and drained them. I went
upstairs and came back down to find the colander on the floor,
no peas and the dog (11month old GSD) looking up at me rather
innocently. He's been consigned to the garden since...

English Bulldog Pup's Lazy Gait by
crosem
I have no experience with bulldogs, but many dogs sit to one side and sort
of sway when they walk...I have had a standard poodle that did this and my
current English cocker spaniel does...vets have not commented on it at
all...oh, and my childhood airedales all sat over to one side...

lab mix, scared of EVERYTHING...suggestions? by
Dave Austin
I'd be interested in some dog experts opinions about what I think may
be a behavioral/emotional problem with a good friend's lab...dog is a
male, lab mix, about 2.5 years old. Has NEVER been abused in any way,
shape, or form. I've known this friend for 15 years and she
absolutely loves and dotes...

Alternative treatments for leukemia by
Marsha
My dog has leukemia. She is a pure bred Siberian Husky. I took her to
the vet, and he said she had 6 weeks to live untreated, and maybe up
to a year if treated with intravenous chemotherapy. But she would have
those side effects and she would have to stay in the vets office a day
each week and she...

Kennel Cough? by
seagull
My chi/terrierX has had a nasty cough for the past couple of days. He's as
lively as ever, and has a huge appetite. The vet said he has no
temperature, so it could be kennel cough or a virus. He's prescribed 2
weeks of antibiotics 'to see how it goes'.
I'm not keen on giving antibiotics unless...

Spaying or Puppies by
Eowyn
Howdy all - I'm new to this newsgroup and have a question. I've
recently been adopted by a German Shepherd (she wandered into our yard
and stayed) :) She's getting big quick and I know the time for
spaying will be soon, although I may want to let her breed instead as
she appears to be purebred. ...

Urinating in house but not incontinent by
mountainwoman
Does anyone have any suggestions for this. My terrier is 14 years old. She
pees in my apartment and then I take her outside and she has a stool. I
have her night time schedule down. I take her out almost every hour. Now
she has a new habit - I take her out at noon to pee and at 1:00pm she...

JL
Hi There
I have a 7 year old male Weimaraner - not spayed - who once in a while -
every 4 to 6 months - will drip a few drops of blood coming from his penis.
This happens after being alone and he sees me or my wife. He gets excited
seeing us and will drip blood.

I used cider vinegar on my old lab elbows every other day and after 6
weeks his hair got back. He loved to sleep on hard surfaces and that was
way he lose his elbows hair.

Anal Gland infection/UTI medication Q by
Krishur
My black lab had an anal sac infection two months back and the vet gave
her an anti-biotic infusion (filled anal sacs with A.B. cream), I don't know
what kind--it was yellow, and oral A.B's.
A month later she was still licking a lot and still had bad breath, so I
took her back. A check of the sac...
