Lyme Disease? by
ryan.begin@gmail.com
I have a two year old English Springer Spaniel. We live in MD and he
loves the outdoors. Today was his annual checkup. After running some
blood tests, it was concluded that Polo (springer) has Lyme disease, or
some sort of dormant Lyme disease in his bloodstream. The nurse
mentioned 30-40% of...

puppy teeth- when to pull them? by
MauiJNP
At what point does it become necessary to have puppy teeth pulled if they
haven't fallen out on their own? Cali, almost 8 months old, still has 2 of
her puppy teeth and they aren't even close to wiggling out. I plan to have
them pulled when she is spayed but that isn't for another few months...

What were pet dogs and cats fed before commercial food? by
Bunny
Hi. I read in one of the "All Creatures Great and Small" books (about
the English vet in the 40's) details of diets. One time the main
charecter told a small boy with a mangy, sick stray to feed him cooked
meat with lots of vegetables. Another story in one of the series told
about how he took a...

Bichon Frise weight range by
Ray Wesley Kinserlow Jr.
What is the weight range for a Bichon. My Molly is 26-7 lbs and looks
big compared to pictures of Bichons I've seen. I ask the vet who said
she is in good health and he said weight varies with the breed. Are
all Bichons very emotional dogs. Molly just goes berserk when I come
back from a long...

Rudy-Mast Cell Cancer by
Mary Beth
Hey all,
Rudy has had a spot on his leg for many years. I'd say up to 8-9. I have had
all the vets check it out, and it came up, with a needle biopsy, as a lipoma
at first. Then it was diagnosed as a fibroma. We watched it, it has always
been the size of an M&M. I used to tease him when he licked...

Hot spots? by
RJ
How do I determine if Puffin my Bichon has hot spots? She is
constantly licking/biting her butt and base of tail. Sometimes the
itch is so bad it stops her in her tracks and she sits down. I guess
this makes it feel better. When she goes outside she immediatly sits
her butt on the cool cement...

We have a 7 month old Corgi male. He has one upper baby tooth that is
curved back like a sabre. Should we let it go or take him to a doggie
dentist for extraction?
