Black and Tan Dogs by
Larry Oliver
The Black and Tan coon hound, the Rottweiler, and the Beauceron all have
basically identical markings. I think I once saw a smaller dog in the
pet store with the same markings. Are they in any way related? Are there
any other dogs marked that way? What contributes to such symmetrical
markings...

Dog Breed by
Michele
First off, you definitely need to read up on the breeds that you are
interested in. Secondly if you take a trip to the local pound or animal
shelter you are bound to find several dogs meeting the description of " high
affection/low aggression". some of which may even be pure bred. Unless you
are...

Demo dog breed? by
Amy Dahl
I recently did a demo at an elementary school with a couple of
my dogs. I've been thinking about getting more involved in
demos. Breed is something of a problem. My dogs are
Chesapeake Bay Retrievers--extremely smart and trainable,
but the wrong dog for many people. It would be a bad thing
for...

AKC sells out to SPAMMERS by

Beware when registering your dog with the AKC, you will be SPAMMED.
They sell your email address and conveniently, the registration form
does not have an opt-out. Opting out must be done after the spammers
already have your email address. Here's the AKC response to...

WHY by
Dee
When people are trying to learn, why is it, that some people have to
get nasty, Were any of you learning at one time, or do you know it
all, already. or are you still learning, too. Do you think, that
people can give advice, and be helpful, without the nasty . I think so,
thanks

loss and some vision loss, but...

What Breed is my Dog? by
RockyRocks!
A couple of weeks ago, we adopted a dog from SPCA. His papers say he
is a boxer, but I know he isn't a pure breed. Can some one help me
determine what breed is Rocky? Check out our viedo to see what he
looks like:

need help with dog walking by
lmj_31
Hi,
I'm no expert but perhaps you could try walking him in his own
surroundings first before the street. The street can be noisy and
destracting. Try the backyard and inside the house so he gets familiar
with the lead. Some people say to leave the lead on the dog for a
while to get used to it...

Muttley: Now a question of Life or Death by
[email protected]
Hi, Jerry!
If I were in Paul's place, I'd try on Muttley the gentlest training
method I know: YOUR method. But I'm not Paul - apparently, he doesn't
want to try it, because of the way you come across in your posts here.
Which is a pity, but there's just as much as one can do, in order to
persuade...

Cane Corso by
Janet B
Anyone very familiar with them? I've only met a few in my life and
now I have 2 (littermates, same home) in my puppy classes. They seem
totally appropriate for their breed, and early socialization with
people and other dogs is a very good thing. I always wonder if people
really know what they're...
