Lab or Golden? by
Heather
Hi,
I am looking to adopt a young-adult dog of at least three years of
age. I'm told that Labs are high energy and need lots of stimulation
well into adult hood. Any thoughts on this? I really like both of
these breeds, Labs and Golden Retrievers, but wonder if the Goldens
tend to mellow out...

new dog movie alert by

"Good Boy" (www.goodboy.com)
I saw the preview and have to admit I chuckled at every line.
The bad thing is... among the (incredibly cute) featured dogs are a
Bernese Mt Dog and an Italian Greyhound. Looking at the website, I
see an Aussie, a poodle, a Great Dane, a Chinese crested, a boxer,...

Best Breed for Active Types by
Jeff
I need help.
I am trying to choose the best dog breed (or mix) that will fit my
lifestyle. I have read a lot (maybe too much) and need some first hand
input.
My lifestyle: I am very active, particularly in things like running
(ultra) and mountaineering. I would like a dog that does not mind...

Breeding debate by

I apologize for intruding on your ng but I have a question about dog
breeding from a scientific perspective. I am debating with someone about
the length of time it would take to get every breed of dogs from 25 to 50
muts at the pound? Is this even possible? If I gave you 50 muts...when
could you...

Border Collie with hip dysplasia by

My Border Collie Doug has slight dysplaysia sorry if I have misspelt) of his

of 10 and 11 months I assumed it was a war wound (they play fight hard
sometimes) Doug was due to go in to be neutered so I asked them to x-ray...

good "family dog" recommendation by

We are looking to adopt a 2-4 year old medium sized dog from a rescue group.
Most important characteristic we are looking for is a dog that gets along
great with kids, with no aggression whatsoever.
Some folks I know are suggesting we consider English Setters, English

Introducing your dog to your newborn. by

Introducing your dog to your newborn.
If your dog has a pulse, then (s)he has a very wide spectrum of emotions.
Thus, it stands to reason that if your dog has emotions, there are plenty of
reasons to be nervous about an introduction and initial weeks of interaction
between your newborn and your...
