senoir citizen center here in town or go to the monthly field trips.
I also have 2 black labs and...

Rapid Onset by
Bill Rose
Three month ago, the vet gave my 6 year old German Shepherd a clean bill
of health. Six weeks ago she became reticent about jumping into the back
of my small truck. Now when people walk down the street she sits on our
front porch and barks hello instead of running to the fence as she used
to...

How to protect noses from sunburn? by
montana wildhack
We find that Bella's nose gets sunburned easily when she's outside near
water (or in water) and we can't always keep her in the shade.
Any suggestions on how to prevent sunburn? Can we use Zinc?

Mahogany Colored Paw Fur by
Katie Poore
Does anyone have any idea why my Basset's back paws have discolored fur?
It's a deep mahogany color. She doesn't seem to favor them, chew on them or
lick them very often. The front paws are quite normal. Thank you. Katie

Greenies by
S.Smith
A few years ago, I heard about a recall for chew items from Greenies. Does
anyone know what that was about and are they now safe? I see them in the
stores and in catalogs.
TIA

Canine Urination Trouble by
Katie Curren
Hi. We are the owners of a Smooth Fox Terrier. He is a 22 lbs,
castrated male, about 14 months old. A few days ago he had some
trouble urinating. He would try to go several times while in the yard,
but little or nothing would come out. He did not seem to be in pain,
and his behavior otherwise...

Hypo-allergenic dogs - for real? by
Lewis Lang
Hi. My wife has dog allergies, but we would love to add a dog to our
family. Is it true that some breeds are (sorry if I'm using the wrong
term) Hypo-allergenic? I hear Poodles and Labradoodles are like that
because they don't shed much.
Thanks,
Lewis Lang

Pimobendan, also known as Vetmedin, is a medicine approved in Europe
to treat dogs with degenerative heart disease. It is not yet approved
in the USA, but the FDA will allow individual imports and some vets
prescribe it.

Maxine
Ok, so your dog likes sweets, he'll like this one! You'll need 1/2
banana, 1/3c milk, 1 egg, 1c fast cook oats, 1/2c all purpose flour and
1/8 rice. Start with squashing the banana, then beat the egg. Then
spread all the ingredients evenly on a plate.
Next, heat in microwave for 3 and 1/2 minutes....
