seizures / 2 year old GSD by [email protected]
I've also been to alt.med.veterinary with this problem. Sorry to make some of you read it twice. Our 75 pound German Shepherd began having seizures four days ago, probably due to contact with an unpunctured can of bug spray we found on the yard. She was convulsing almost continuously until we...

rumor or fact? by meg
I recently heard that using household products, such as Swiffer Wet Jet, can be harmful to your pet's health. Is this true? Should I stop using these products in my house? Is there a certain ingredient that I should look for when buying household cleaning products?

Case#2 akita - slowing down by [email protected]
Hi again, My wife and I are very happy with Storm, our Akita. She's 13 years old now and very healthy and energetic. If you read my first posting "Case#1 akita lupus" you'll get a little medical history about our dog. My wife and I started using a certified organic probiotic supplement about 5...

An update on Dixie by David Sherman
Hello everyone, it's been a very stressful few months: Back in October my 2 year old Poodle/ Golden mix - Dixie - was having all kinds of neurological problems - we thought due to some tick borne disease. After many vet visits and a few visits to two brilliant vet neurologists in Yonkers, NY...

Ringworm in dogs by [email protected]
My 11 month old boxer picked up ringworm somehow and none of the medicines the vet has given us have worked. Has anyone had this ailment with their dog and if so, what did you use to get rid of it? And how long did it take?

Best way to hit your dog? by Dan[_2_]
OK, first off, hitting your dog is NOT the answer. I work at a vet clinic and we have clients that come in with the most uncontrollable dogs sometimes. But you know what? If you have to resort to hitting your pet, it is YOU who needs the training. You obviously do not know how to control your dog....

Is your dog prescribed Pimobendan? by [email protected]
Pimobendan, also known as Vetmedin, is a medicine approved in Europe to treat dogs with degenerative heart disease. It is not yet approved in the USA, but the FDA will allow individual imports and some vets prescribe it. Pimobendan has been very effective in helping my dog. If you live in the San...

anorexic looking...won't eat by [email protected]
I have a 9 year old small terrier mutt, Roxy, who normally weighs about 15 pounds. About 10 days ago she got into the garbage and ate some raw chicken scraps and some cooked chicken bones. She threw up a couple of times and pooped normally but I went to the vet scared to death that Roxy would die...

Sheltie and bloody right nostril.... by skew
I have a 14yr old Sheltie who is in good shape other than she has been having nosebleeds (right nostril). It is more like a runny nose (mucus with blood mixed in it maybe 50/50). She sneezes every now and then(some days more than others) and does rub against things to wipe off discharge. I hope its...

Here's a super delicious recipe for those loved one's by Maxine
Ok, so your dog likes sweets, he'll like this one! You'll need 1/2 banana, 1/3c milk, 1 egg, 1c fast cook oats, 1/2c all purpose flour and 1/8 rice. Start with squashing the banana, then beat the egg. Then spread all the ingredients evenly on a plate. Next, heat in microwave for 3 and 1/2 minutes....

Greenies by S.Smith
A few years ago, I heard about a recall for chew items from Greenies. Does anyone know what that was about and are they now safe? I see them in the stores and in catalogs. TIA Petey's Mom
