"Idiots Guide to PBs"?? by
Chris Williams
What generalizations are safe to make about Pitties? Is there a site
or pamphlet that encapsulates information you'd deem accurate?
It's my job to 'promote' volunteers from walking easy dogs to stronger
ones, which includes, of course, the PBs. It would be handy to have
something brief to clue...

Agressive dog by
[email protected]
Hi
We rescued a young (11months old) female rottweiler/beauceron cross
bred, about two months ago from our local dog pound. We chose her
because at the pound when all mayhem was breaking out she stayed very
calm. She is very gentle and is great with our young children (1 year
and two years)....

Define "Rescue" for me.. I'm from mars.. by
Mike D
What exactly is the difference between a rescue society dedicated
to a specific breed of canine and me who adopts from shelters?
What is it that makes adopters of purebreds "rescuers" ?
My (3) dogs come EXCLUSIVELY from shelters. Are my dogs
not "rescued" ?
Or is it just snobbery about purebreds?

Lucky successfully disintacted by
Paul E. Schoen
Today (Monday) Lucky was uneventfully neutered, and is now spending the
night at the home of an older couple who have a spayed Lab, also rescued
from the streets. I have not met them, but my friend says they are very
nice people, and absolutely dog lovers. Lucky may very well charm her way
into...

we got "the fence" by
culprit
after having the appraisal for the real fencing coming out at over $11,000,
we decided to put up an invisible fence, just until we can save some cash
for the real one. after we put up the real fence, the invisible one will
probably remain as a "fail safe" to keep the dogs off the real fence. ...

new laws for docking tails by
elrond
It has been many years since the breeds of work and show dogs have had their
ears and tails docked. Where it all began, in Europe, possibly other
countries. There are many changes in attitude of our environment,
especially towards global consciousness, it is no surprise that the time has
come to...

Now the worst - He has learned fence...

[OT] - Lines by
Marcel Beaudoin
Lines. What do they mean, and how do they affect your life.
One horizontal one is used as a dash or a minus sign. They affect your life
a lot when you are learning math or grammar.
One vertical line is used a lot in programming and other math areas.
You wait in lines all the time, at the bank,...

While I'm He Pitt Bull Guarding House by
Beth In Alaska
My friends pitt is a friendly lap dog in the typical pitt way but has
recently become protective of his home, barking and growling at noises.
Someone entered unannounced and he came flying down the hall barking and
growling and ended up biting the visitor on the arm. Obviously this is VERY...

Hurtling out of control by
diddy[_2_]
WHY???
Why do itty bitty women love to walk great big dogs that they can't control,
and send everyone in their part skittering , parting like the Red Sea,
running in fear for their lives, and feeling threatened by their dog, knowing
if their big dog decided to make lunch out of your dog, there...

Nearly cried yesterday by
tiny dancer
I saw a neighbor of ours outside yesterday afternoon with his new puppy. So
of course I had to go down the road to get a few puppy loves. I knew it was
a little pit bull pup, my daughter had told me about it. Well, when I got
up close to it, I saw it's poor little ears. All crusted and bloody. ...

Petsmart Training by
tethys
I just interviewed for a PetSmart Assistant Trainer Position today.
Many of the threads relevant to PetSmart Training programs and
instructors are several years old and I was looking for more
up-to-date feedback. Does anyone have any current info or opinions on
training at Petsmart?

Snow by
Marie
It is 6:45pm. Since 1pm this afternoon upwards of 8" of snow has fallen.
My normally 2.5 hr bus run took 4.25 hrs to complete. BLAH
On a lighter note, when I let Macula out the snow tickled the bottom of her
rib cage and she didn't even *try* to squat when she peed :-)
