Chihuahua Skin/Coat Problems - Help - Pics by
[email protected]
My 2 year old chihuahua recently started losing it's hair, in
patches. I took him to the vet and they didn't know what it was, but
tested it for ring/heart worms. The tests came back negative and no
other explanation was offered. Any ideas? Please see...

Cost to high? by
Sg
Hello all
I'm new to this newsgroup but I need everyone's input.
I have a 9 yr old female ( spayed ) Chihuahua that is just smaller than a
cat.
I recently took her to the vet to have her teeth cleaned and her shots
updated. The vet wanted to run a chem. profile ( blood ) and I agreed.
The vet...

Mike and Me
Need the group's help please. Our Lab has allergies. He scratches
constantly but has not yet developed "hot spots". The vet recommends we
eliminate ALL grain from his diet. I switched from "Science Diet" Lamb and
Rice to "Blue Buffalo" Large Breed Chicken and Brown Rice mistakenly
thinking that...

If your pooch is packing on the pounds or the cat waddles when she struts,
it may be time for a diet.

Is garlic and onion good or bad for dogs? by
scribe
Hi All. Greetings.
Is garlic and onion good or bad for dogs?
I have heard many stories that garlic and onion is bad for dogs. Does
anyone have or point me to empirical evidence that demonstrate this one
way or the other.
Many thanks.

Almonds! No No No! by
David and Nan Greenly
Notice Almonds are second on the list....ever think of asking your vet what
you can feed you dog? Before you give advice you should check your facts.

Teeth Cleaning by
Grinder
We have a 9 year old Boston that I took in for his annual last week. The
Vet said he has two molars on the left side that don't look good. I checked
them out myself and sure enough they look like they need to be cleaned. The
gums are slightly red but nothing severe. He also does not show...

Follow up on Canidae by
[email protected]
I had an email response from Canidae this am. That was quick since I
only sent the question last night. The answer was that they have not
changed the formula and that they have never done feeding trials.
Something about exceeding industry standards and not testing on living
animals. That...

Vaginal bleeding after spay by
Early Spring
Our new 1-2 year old dog adopted from the SPCA was spayed 11 days ago,
she was in a major heat at the time but they decided to spay her
anyway. I had no say, I didn't even know she was in heat, I was to
adopt her after I brought her home. So, the SPCA dropped her off to
be spayed and I picked her...

My 2.5 year old Pomeranian had a Rabies booster vaccination on 15 Nov 2011. I had a Rabies Antibody Titre test done on 02 Mar 2012. The results are less than 0.5 IU/mL. Vet has suggested that he is having trouble building up immunity and needs another booster shot. I am wondering if it is ok to...

Does it hurt dog when groomers remove ear hair? by
Robin
I have my dog groomed once a month. She has some hair in her ear but
none that goes down her ear canal. I'm relatively new to dog ownership
(approx 14 mos now), it never occurred to me that groomers might remove
ear hair in a way that was painful. I thought they were using some kind
of shaver. ...

Canine Food Allergies by
Suzie-Q[_3_]
What are the most common food allergies for
dogs? I have a very itchy dog and I'm wondering
if she has a food allergy. She mostly gets
Purina ONE, either "weight management" or
the mature dog formula.
Thanks in advance.

Lipomas / Golden Retriever by
No Name
Hi, have a 11 year old golden/chow chow mix. The vet recently removed two
lipomas from under the front leg and another around the chest area.
Anyone else had to deal with this?

Urgent, opinions please, dog ate rawhide by
Rosa Palmén
Hi,
if anyone is here right now, maybe you could help me out.
I beleive my dog just swallowed a piece of rawhide without chewing it
properly. I'm not sure how big the piece was, it was a little bigger than a
square inch when I looked at her chewing, and a little while later it was
all gone...
So...
