breeds for older middle aged couple by
[email protected]
My husband and are are ready to get a dog and need advise on which
breeds to investigate further. Don't want a toy dog-- in the area of
15-25# would be desirable. We are now at home most of the time.
Although we do have a non fenced in yaard, we would like our dog to be
an indoor dog. THe dog...

Rhodesian Ridgeback body language by
Rocky
I'm looking after my first Rhodesian Ridgeback tomorrow. We met
today, a very nice active one year old. Overweight at one.
Is it just me, or do Ridgebacks have different body language? I
understand her OK and Friday reads other dogs well, but he had a
hard time figuring out this girl's...

Cabergoline (inducing estrus) how much? by
kassa
I wouldn't mess around with my bitch's reproductive system on the
cheap. In fact, I wouldn't even use a general vet for such purposes,
but a qualified, board certified reproductive specialist.
What's the rush? Two months isn't out of the ordinary.

At last, peectures of Queenie! by
ceb
Greetings:
Here, at long last, is Queenie's Dogster page:
www.dogster.com/?128613
I'm interested in hearing breed guesses. Her former owner told me that her
mother was a Golden Retriever. Obviously, there's something else there too.

Darby Wiggins
Kate,
Your breed is FCR correct? the picture on the thread above us...link
(http://www.fotolog.net/innovadog/?photo_id=264707)....THAT'S a yellow
FCR???....
I read the color was a disqualification but the dog *looks* like a
field Golden . Admittedly, I've never seen a FCR in person, but what...

Which dogs would you cull? by
bethgsd
Assuming that physical homogeneity is important for recognizing a
breed,
which of these Border Collies would you eliminate from your breeding
program purely on the basis of looks?
I could never breed purely for looks. Though I did notice that a
couple of pictures had that fluffly black and white...

Please dont take this the wrong way but does anyone who purchases an

I can't answer for someone else, but, FWIW, I avoid selling my babies to
anyone unless I've already figured out that they are, in fact, a "great
guy".

JRT's Ears by
Zenga
I was wondering about the Jack Russell's ears. I know a typical Jack
Russell has a "V- fold" to its ear. Is it, however, possible for a
purebred JRT to have ears that are pricked straight up (not just
momentarily). Would there be any physcial circumstances that could
cause this (i.e. pregnancy or...

House REtraining? by
[email protected]
Our Beagle was attacked by a pit in our neighborhood last year. Since
then, he has developed problems with "bathroom" issues. While he is
more than content to pee himself empty when on a walk, he seems to have
no concept anymore about "holding it" and is peeing all over the house.
We've made...
