When is euth. warranted? by
Lynn K.
Reading the Teena thread made me wonder what circumstances would those
people who criticized Kate (Charlie & Michael) deem appropriate for
euthanizing a dog. Everyone who has ever had to make that decision
and everyone who works with animals has thought long and hard about it
and come to personal...

Dog haters by
Holly
My dog Jasper absolutely loves to meet new people. When we're out on
the walking trails, he likes to run up to other people to greet them .
He would never bite or hurt anybody, he just wants to say hi, and for
people to pet him. I had a rather upsetting incident today . we were
out on our regular...

Leash laws, poop laws by
po
I hate poop laws. Leash laws are okay, but unless someone is getting 20
turds a day in their yard, I think they should just get used to it as being
part of civilization where man and beast live together. I also get the
feeling that dog hater get a special joy from making dog owners pick up
warm,...

My dog is scared and won't sit still or sleep!!! by
WakeBdr
This started Thursday evening. My 3.5 year old Boykin Spaniel will
not sit still or sleep. She keeps pacing around like she's deathly
afraid of something. Every now and then, she'll take off running like
something tried to get her. She only seems to be content when she is
sitting directly on...

Dog chewing up floors by
[email protected]
Hi, I'm new to this group and I am in need of some desperate help! I
have a male german shepherd who is 1year 4months old. He is a great
dog, and very smart. However the problem is that he chews up my kitchen
floor. (I have those tiles that just peel and stick.) I keep his cage
in the kitchen so it...

beginning agility by
J1Boss
I'm hoping to get in to a beginning agility class next week (evaluation next
week, class begins in a few). Anything special I should be aiming for? I've
been thinking that my wild child would not only enjoy and eventually be good at
agility, but that it may help him gain some self-control over...

Here's a new one by
Melinda Shore
... for me, anyway.
One of the women down at the feed store told me that there
are a couple of experienced sleddogs at the SPCA, so I went
up there to have a look. They turned out not to be
experienced, but they were both awfully sweet and I talked
some with the person who's responsible for their...

Cesar Millan by
diddy[_2_]
I have never seen a CM show, as I only get 3 channels on TV, and the ones
thart CM lives on aren't one of those.
So I purchased a book by him "Be the Pack Leader"
I can't understand why there is so much hostility towards CM. That book, page
for page, hits the nail on the head with laser...

Help with Yorkie Terrier who will not sleep alone by
mea305
Hello all:
We just adopted a new Yorkie Terrier; he cannot be more than a year or
so old. Here is the problem: intitially, and only because he was
"scared" to sleep alone, we permitted him to sleep in the bed. Well,
one can imagine the problems associated with doing this, besides
becoming sleep...

I have posted here a few times and love the info I find here and just
listening to you all and seeing all your lovely pets...I know I will
probably have some 'not so nice' responses here, but I have to ask all of
you about a situation that is starting to cause
conflict in the household...my...

Read this, your freedom may depend on it! by

am the person who pulled a toy gun on TV anchorman David Horowitz in August
of 1987 and forced him to read on the air a statement about how the CIA and
alien beings had replaced my family and friends with clones. I am here now to
explain to you how I came to this conclusion, and the events that...

Need a Name Game... by
Emily Carroll
I finally got Rusty's registration papers and he now needs a real registered
name.
He's a fox-red male Lab, energetic and sweet. I'm not particularly attached
to names that reflect their color (i.e. __ Hershey, __ Mocha, __ Cocoa, etc.
Maybe it's just a chocolate thing).
So far the "best" option...

Biting My Tongue by
shelly
one of my cow-orkers was just on the phone with her son.
(the shared phone for our unit is right behind my desk.) i
overheard them talking about their dogs (son has a Boston and
she has two Shih Tzus). apparently son's Boston is uber
gassy, so she recommended that he feed him Iams, "because...

Whats up with this? by
cshenk
Just checking but the 'Stalker pup' (Mabel Anne) once *out of the home and
at the Vets* evinced something we never trained. At least, nothing directly
(deliberately etc).
If we want her to sit someplace specific, we point at that spot then give
the asl for sit or 'down' or whatever. We'd...
