"The Whistler and His Dog" by Chris
Anybody remember that oldie? Know where I could get a recording? At our Walkathon this morning, I saw my first 'Free Style' or 'Dances with Dogs'. I was underwhelmed by the performances, and immediately began a choreography in my head for Mac. Anybody got ideas for cool moves? Or themes? The...

"What Breed".... Chiahuahua and Corgi folks?? Bay Area by Sionnach
My sister in CA has just adopted this dog on a trial basis: http://www.homeatlastrescue.org/html/dogs/poppy.html They've got her listed as "Chihauhau", but my sister and I both think those ears are rather Corgi-ish. As a side note- any Bay Area people have input/opinions on this rescue group?

"What they were born to do" by Chris
Bringing Duncan: http://www.sbacc.org/DOGS%20Current/duncanfull.jpg home for my cats (and Mac) to 'educate'. Is it perverse, i.e. cruel, to expect a terrier to co-exist with cats and varmints? Is it coincidence that my last three dogs, herding breeds, except Mac, have come to the defense of small...

"When one of us suffer, all of us suffers." by Chris Williams
(Bet you can guess who said that.) Why, if I, say, stub a toe, do all the dogs come running to offer sympathy when they don't do that if another member of the fact yipes? Is it, do you think, that injury to the pack leader would have more impact on their lives? Pretty cold. Pretty selfish. :)

"You can't buy a perfect dog, ... by Chris
...but you can create one." Quite a thoughtful article: http://slate.msn.com/id/2100606/ I'm mulling his contention that choosing a purebred puppy over a rescue means "fewer surprises". (he makes no value judgment about that) Are you a person who _likes surprises? When I go to the shelter in the...

Any of your dogs do this? I have chew hooves and smoked bones all over the house, yet, if Laika is chewing on one of them, even if there's another one right in front of Angel, she'll stan dther and bark at Laika "gimmee! gimmee!". Right now Laika's lying contendly there gnawing on a hoof, and...
