any ideas on what kind of dog this is? by
tuttle
Hi all,
This beautiful pup found us about a month ago. After no one claimed
him we became his family. We don't know what kind of dog he is. He
is very smart, loves to dig, very energetic. At least 6 mths old and
40+ lbs. He looks like a pitbull mix or a ridegeback mix. He has...

Any suggesttons? by
Pug Dogs Dad
Hi folks.
Thought some of you might share your knowledge and preferences.
My neighbours want to get a dog, but want help to choose a breed. I am a
Pug Man, but they want something bigger, (though I really can't understand
why) and I really don't know enough about any large breeds to help...

Anyone heading to UKC Premier? by
Amanda Tikkanen
It's only about 5 weeks away!
Beau and I are going and it's our 5th Premier! Boy how the time flies.
We're camping this year because it's so much cheaper than driving from
home or even getting a hotel room.
Anyway, if anyone is there, look us up. Mine's the BLUE leopard
bobtail Catahoula (one...

anyone know what kind of dog this is? by
Tony Tung
My girlfriend and I saw this dog outside of a supermarket. It was the
most friendly dog we have ever met. We're not sure if it might be a
mix. Does anyone recognize the breed?

Thanks!

ANZ Happy Jack, 1992-2006 by
Mary Healey
After an undeservedly long life and brief illness, Jack went to the Bridge
today. No more air kisses and smiles, no more "rubbie rumps" or twirly
tails. OTOH, no more random biting, no more seizures, no more separate
accomodations for "upstairs" and "downstairs" dogs.
I was fortunate to be in...

Are all poodle mixes less likely to shed a lot? by
tammy
I have been research labradoodles and would really like to obtain a
medium size dog that doesn't shed much through a shelter or rescue.
Are all poodle mixes less likely to shed a lot? The cost of a
labradoodle is obscene and I really would rather save a dog, but need
a medium size, good with kids,...

Are Grt Danes good protectors? by
Luke
As you can see from the title my question is do Great Danes make good home protection companions or are they more of the companion than protector? I guess I have always thought of them as clumsy uncoordinated giant puppies. Am I wrong? Are they more agile and athletic than that? Please let me know...

Are Rottweilers meant to be apartment dogs? by
[email protected] (Cody Houston)
Hi. In the city where I live the Rottweiler (or Pit Bull) is the dog of
choice for apartment dwellers interested in large breeds. Of course,
they adapt to apartment life, but should Rotties *really* be kept in an
apartment?
Checking before I adopt a pup from my local pet store.
Thanks.

Are they a new species? by
ZilentKnight
Dog breeders can selectively mate their animals so that eventually the
descendants have shorter legs or longer hair than their forebears.
However, the changes dog breeders can produce often result from losses
in gene function. For example, the dachshund’s small size is caused by a
failure of...
